“Charming hotel in the Pyrenees”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2013

I stayed here 4 nights as part of a cycling group. I had a very large, nice room to myself that opened onto a lovely terrace. The hotel decor was charming and warm. The room was spotlessly clean, and quiet. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant twice and lunch once, all outside in the peaceful garden. The restaurant staff were very helpful and fun. I found the food to be very good, the fish was cooked with a delicate hand - not overcooked as is so common. I looked forward to the breakfast here every morning, especially the fresh "pain au chocolate" (chocolate croissant). My only minor complaint was difficulty with wifi - but, afterall, it is a small mountain town and maybe being "offline" for awhile is good anyway!

The hotel was very quiet when we were there. the restaurant also was not very busy. The desk and restaurant staff ranged from disinterested to helpful. Both hotel and restaurant had a wonderful ambiance. The meal itself was fair. Great bathroom, comfortable beds. I found the room and the meal to be very expensive when compared to other places we stayed in France.

Room Tip: The rooms were large and roomy but very cold. The balcony was great.

Stayed for three nights in February with my family.
The best part of the hotel is the restaurant which has friendly staff good food and a warm ambience. I thought it was a little expensive for what was offered but not ridiculously so.
The room did not live up to the cosy feel of the public spaces. It was very basic, with a large but tired bathroom and just one power socket hidden behind a bed (a significant irritation in these days of mobile phones).
Overall the feel of the room was that it was designed for young skiing groups - lots of space to hang wet clothes but little by way of comfort.
Breakfast comprised a coffee machine and a small table of bread and ham, inadequately stocked and infrequently topped up by a surly waiter. It was in a different room from the restaurant and I don't know why the experience was so different. Bizarrely the room featured a tumbril filled with old televisions. Whether this was an art installation or simple a dump I never worked out.

We stayed here for only one night while touring the Pyrenees by motorcycle. We had a large second floor room with a balcony overlooking the outdoor dining area, set back from the main street in the main village, close to everything. Parking was off-street, adjacent to the hotel. Although not secured, it was free. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant and bar, though the prices were typical of a ski-area hotel. The village had dozens of eating and drinking options. Our room couldn't pick up Wi-fi, but there was a nice lounge area off the lobby with lots of comfy chairs and tables for checking email. Service was excellent. Just remember to take your key if you plan to be out past 10 pm, as they lock the front lobby.

Room Tip: Closer to the office is better if you need Wi-fi.
