Nestled in a sleepy town by the foot of the Pyrenees, L’Arpege is such a hidden gem. The small team of 2 Japanese chefs and 1 server efficiently handling all the customers swiftly (max capacity 8 covers). The food was just sublime and the presentation looks like artwork. This is the 2nd Franco-Japanese food I’ve had and both have been excellent (the other was Keiko at Nob Hill, SF). Not yet earned its first star yet but food was much better than some other 1-2 starred places, maybe it’s better that way! Stay secret ssshhhhh!

To eat here is an absolute delight. The food is excellently presented and the tastes are sublime. Each course was a masterpiece and the overall experience left us all with a very warm feeling.

Not cheap but definitely worth the money. Already looking forward to the next time.

I can confidently say that I have just enjoyed the best ever meal in France after many trips and even more meals over four decades. A French meal with a touch of Japanese influence in the sauces made for a memorable experience. The top dish was an entree of Escalope of foil gras de canard poêlêe et morceaux de confit de canard dans us bouillon de dashi et champignons. Each course had a strong regional influence with the black pork featured in a beautiful main course.
The restaurant is beautifully finished, the service impeccable and the proprietor chef and his wife genuinely hospitable.

We were treated to dinner by a local friend at this posh restaurant. The courses were endless, the food was unusual, the service was prompt even though the restaurant was quite full and the atmosphere very chic.

Rather pricey.

We had a chance to have diner at L'Arpège to celebrate a birthday in the family.

The restaurant is spacious, with tables at reasonable distance of each other, and the service was excellent.

The food was generous and the cuisine a fusion between local and Japanese which gave it a special touch.

Count between 50 and 60€ per person.

In my opinion, the most "chic" restaurant in Tarbes, great for a special occasion...
