After seeing the Tour leave in Le Touquet, we followed them to Arras (in the hammering rain!). After about 30 mins we finally found the hotel tucked down a little tiny road off the main square. We have stayed in many Ibis hotels & know exactly what we are getting. It's clean, functioning & superbly located. The staff are friendly & helpful & breakfast was plentiful. Once the Tour had departed we spent a couple of days seeing what Arras has to offer. A must is the underground tunnels used during WW1, we were lucky & had the tour guide to ourselves! Apart from the rain, it was a lovely stay & we will definitely be back.
Great location with the main sights of Arras within walking distance. Rooms are basic but comfortable and represent good value for money. Staff are courteous and efficient and the breakfast had enough variety to satisfy our needs. All in all a very pleasant stay.
Right at the juncture of the two historic plazas, and facing a third outside yet another historic church, this is an excellent small hotel for the traveler flying solo or as a couple. There appear to be a few larger rooms, but the standard size is a queen bed that occupies most of the space. A writing desk built into the wall provided ample space for laptop, a few books and my briefcase, while some shelves and a small closet were fine for shirts and other clothes. The bathroom was plenty large enough and had ample hot water. In other words, in a town where you really ought to be out sitting on a patio until dark, it makes a perfect spot to retreat to, sleep, and get up again the next day for more touring. Incidentally, that bed was exceptionally comfortable for a hotel bed, and the place was generally pristine.
Breakfasts were pretty standard, but certainly no different and no worse than what you might find in the local restaurants: croissants, sweet loaves, baguette, tiny crepes... basically breads and more breads, with some ham and cheese and fruits as well.
Desk services were really great, with a sincere "bonjour" every time you walked in or out from every staff member, and they were helpful getting taxis and providing directions.
Stayed here for two nights in July 2014.
Found the hotel a little difficult to find. It is signposted until the critical turn off one of the squares. Parking is available outside the hotel if you are lucky - we were but had to keep feeding the meter.
Check in was smooth and we found all staff to be friendly and helpful.
The rooms are very, very small but everything we needed was there.
Some people are obviously commenting about the noise. This wasn't a problem for me but then again I had sampled the local hospitality so I slept well.
