“Outstanding!”
Reviewed 21 June 2014 via mobile

This was by far the best restaurant that we've dined in on our latest European trip - everything about the place oozed class and the food was superb. The staff and the service were excellent despite the fact the place was very busy - in fact, I was amazed at the number of people that kept filing in (what better recommendation do you need?).

A first class dining experience.

“Popular bistro”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

We ate here on a Saturday night having booked at lunchtime. On arrival at 7 the restaurant was already busy and by the time we left was more or less full.

We were given a kir royale with the menus which was a nice start. The menu is quite extensive and all 4 of us selected from that day's specials. The food was perfectly acceptable but not particularly exciting.

Throughput the meal we felt a little rushed, as if they wanted our table for a second sitting. However, once we had declined deserts and coffee, we were allowed to take our time finishing our wine so it might just be that they were super efficient.

Service was friendly and the restaurant had a lively buzz.

Our bill for 4 people, covering 2 courses, bottled water and a bottle of wine was 120 euros excluding tip. We probably wouldn't eat here again because there are so many other possibilities.a

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

Went in at lunchtime in order to book a table for dinner that evening. It was a Sunday. The lunch clientele were French, and the place was full. Had high hopes for dinner, but what a disappointment ! Both my wife and I were unimpressed at the taste and quality of the starters and main courses. We didn't bother with dessert. The service was indifferent. The total price for the two of us, including a half pitcher of local wine, was 65 euros. Not money well spent. They should be embarrassed at being opposite the splendid 'La Bulle D'O' restaurant.

“Small portions, great chips”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

This is a steak restaurant with a French flair apparently. We were shown to a very small table for 2. The meals seem to only be offered on the formulae principle. We ordered the 2 course for 21.50 euros which included either an entrée and main or main and dessert. My husband ordered snails and the Flemish beef. The snails were nice but the Flemish beef was overcooked and dry. I had rump steak - the piece was minute! and a dessert of crème brulee. The steak was okay tasting but not overly flavourful, however the chips were fantastic, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, probably the best I've ever had. The crème brulee was very nice and obviously made in house. Arras seems to offer a lot of restaurants, so we'll try somewhere else next time we stay in this city on our way to the Euro channel.
