I should have known better than to enter a restaurant with a life-sized plastic lobster outside the door. This place is pretty terrible and there must be better in Arras, even on a Monday night when many of the restaurants seemed to be closed. Service was friendly which was good. The problem is that the food all seems to be plastic and microwaved. Our starters which were 9.99 euro (not cheap) were supposedly scallops with truffle. Well, there may have been scallops in the mash that arrived in a cream sauce drowned with cheese. There may have been truffle. But I couldnt really detect either. The scallop meat was mashed and cooked beyond holding any shape. More like crab.... Then I had a "trio of fish" for a main course with vegetables. The vegetables were straight out of a tin - green beans, carrot and turnip. Utterly tasteless and horrible. The fish portions were small and obviously frozen - water ran out of them when cut. But worst of all they were covered in a glutinous and clearly tinned curry sauce. Not a good curry sauce. A jar type curry sauce. And more oddly than that, the dish was not described as having a curry sauce. It was meant to be meuniere. To be honest it was pretty revolting and not cheap at 14.99 euro. I couldnt face dessert. Wine was awful - tried the white and the red. Not cheap either. This was the worst meal we have had in France for many years. I told the waitress of my dis-satisfaction and she looked sheepish and muttered that no one else had ever complained. I find this impossible to believe. On the plus side, my husbands mussels were quite ok - nothing special but nothing to complain about. Bread was - and this is unbelievable in France - AWFUL. white dry sliced stuff. Avoid.
