Met Lise's mum the other day when we stayed for one night in Boulogne sur Mer. She was very charming and friendly and I think disappointed that we did not have time to stay for breakfast. She showed us up to the third floor where we had booked the Woodpecker suite but she gave us a choice of a further room which too was vacant. Both rooms really lovely - full of character, the B&B was spotlessly clean. We stuck to our original choice of the Woodpecker suite with double bed and then separate room with sliding door across where we had 2 single beds. The bed was very comfortable (although a little on the squeaky side) and the rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. Bathroom very small - toilet a few inches apart from sink and sink few inches apart from shower cubicle - did nt bother me as long as I could have a good warm shower. Found bathrobes in the wardrobe. Too cold to go in the garden but I can imagine that it is great in the Spring/summer time. Good location near city centre and around the corner and up a steep road is the old part of the city - nice restaurants and bars there. I would recommend La Voliere, is a very hospitable and good value for money, where service is given with a smile.
