You look at the restaurant from the outside, and you are frankly not impressed. You probably have to know it to go there (or be suggested to, like it happened to us). Then you walk in, and everything changes.
First of all, tablecloths. Real ones. And real tissue napkins. Big, spacious tables, which seems to be a taboo in France. Soft music, perfect lights, comfortable chairs. You really want to sit down.
And when you do, the discreet but zealous maître greets and advices you.
We chose from the menus, and were not disappointed. Gambas, fish salad, red snappers. Everything was delicious, and neatly presented. The food not only tasted good, but *looked* good.
The wine list is a thick book, which makes the choice quite difficult, unless you are on a budget, which will drastically reduce your choices. We opted for a white Bordeaux, and were absolutely delighted. Of course, the maître told us everything about the wine.
Price wise, the restaurant is expensive, there's no way around it - end especially if you go for wine. But the quality of the food deserves the price you pay, and when you punch in the card pincode, you do think that, yes, it was well spent money.
Don't miss it if you are in Boulogne sur Mer.
