We stayed at this Formula 1 hotel for one night en route between Calais and lower Normandy. The person on reception was very helpful in explaining the hotel services to us, and also offered to change our 1st floor room to one on the ground ground due to our large suitcases and no lift. We hadn't understood by the hotel's description of the room that there was just a hand-sink in the room, and showers and toilets were at the end of our corridor. We had a big double bed plus an over-bunk; the place felt more like very modern student halls rather than a motel, but for 19 euros for the room (£14?) plus 4.6 euros each for a tasty and plentiful fresh breakfast we really aren't complaining. We would definitely stay here again next time we travel via Calais.

Ideal for our purposes, a cheap night to stay after arriving to Calais on a late ferry, get a good rest before longish drive in morning.
Clean, friendly, semi comfortable (we always take our quilt and sleep on theirs!)
Definitely an option for future trips!

Room Tip: All rooms much on a par I would think. No issues with sound, other than fellow guests.

I booked this hotel for a cheap weekend away with some friends, the hotel was clean and easy to find with several signs on the main road.

The staff were helpful but be aware that the reception is not usually staffed and you need to pick up a phone on the desk to ask the manager to come and check you in. It helps to know a few words of French for this.

The showers and toilets were clean but they were frequently all in use during busy times, although they are not in the room they are only a short walk away at the end of the corridor.

My only gripe about the stay was the lack of parking, the car park was completely full and so we had to park at the edge of the car park in the corner and hope no one would object...

Overall a great place for an overnight stay.

The Good:
- Cheap. About half hour from Calais. A place to rest your head and get up for the ferry in the morning. Nothing more nothing less.

The Bad:
- Ran out of car parks! Talk about popular. Truckies took up a few spots with their rigs but disabled parks were only ones free. Probably should look at allocation of parks to their clientele.

The Ugly:
- Probably not enough facilities for the amount of people staying there. Had to wait a few minutes for a shower and never had to do that at an F1 before.

Cheap. I paid just 28 Euros with breakfast. But a row of toilets and shower cubicles in a shared corridor is unacceptable in this day and age. It may be okay for the French, but most guests here are English or Dutch. Breakfast amounts to a cup of coffe and some french bread and a bit of apple pureed baby food. It is virtually unmanned and next to a motorway so you wake up at about 5am. The location is about 3 miles form Boulogne in an industrial estate.

We have just returned from 2 night break in France, using a cheap Tunnel crossing we had.

We only paid 48 Euros for 2 nights, it was easy to find, very quiet, clean. We took our own breakfast as we had a electric cool box. Pelnty of parking, toilets/showers clean always were available, at that price you expect basic, but it was more than good enough for just sleeping in and to have free Wifi thrown in was a bonus.

I would recomend when heading back to Calais take the coastal road D940 heading for Wimereux and just follow, some beautiful walks and scenery, great bakery at Sangatte and you are almost level with the tunnel, well worth the drive.

Room Tip: We had one at the back where there was extra parking

For a one night stay it was qreat. Was extremely quiet, although it was a Saturday night in mid January and wasn't very busy. Toilets and showers were nice and clean. Extremely easy to find. I have only stayed in one F1 before and that was terrible, this was far better. Normally I prefer Ibis. Staff very good. As other people have said, the staff don't speak English but it is France!!! Anyway all you have to do is give them your booking number and payment card, so you don't absolutely need to speak French. I couldn't find a shortcut for walking to Auchan to get an evening meal, so had to drive there as it was only about 2c, dark and snowing slightly. It is only 5 mins by car and there are 2 Flunch restaurants, other restaurants and a "Friterie" caravan plus Mc Donalds etc etc etc. At least one of the Flunch and a "Crocodile" restaurant are open 7 days per week.
Bed was not too hard, so just ok for me as I like a soft bed. I had no problem sleeping.
If you don't want an evening meal with some drinks then I would recommend this hotel.
