“Lovely stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

We stayed for three days - comfortable beds, unique ambiance, everything clean, and the owners are lovely, friendly people who make you feel at home. It's a beautiful old-fashioned house, right in the centre of Cambrai, with many good restaurants within easy walking distance. Definitely recommended.

We stayed here for 1 night over our wedding anniversary. We much enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable (called Nature) and full of nice French country furniture and nic nacs. We slept well and breakfast was plentiful (boiled eggs are available). You need to park either outside or or in the nearby outside car park. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Good value.

I can recommend this place very much. Good atmosphere, beautiful old floors and ceilings and several differently decorated rooms. And, also important, very friendly reception by the owner and her husband (who served us breakfast).
Comfortable, clean and pleasant.

I was expecting a lot from this Chambre d'hotes, espscially after my last experience and considering the entry in the Michelin guide. It was OK; the room was kind of fussy (we stayed in Nature) and had allsorts of garden-y things in keeping with the name. All a bit unnecessary, but sort of quaint. I think if it had none of these things, it would have been a bit plain. In keeping with many places in France, there was no shaver sockets, no kettle/tea/coffee making facilities. But the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and despite being in the centre of Cambrai, was reasonably quiet. Breakfast was OK, but a bit pricey all things considered. Overall it's OK, but don't expect too much. In addition, despite its entry in the Michelin guide, don't let that persuade you if you read good reviews on this site for other places. I cannot comment on the restaurant, as it was closed when we stayed. Instead we visited L'Escargot which is only a short walk away. This was nice, however.

Room Tip: Don't be persuaded by the reviewer who wxed lyrical about the Suite des Anges. It's basicall...

My husband was there on business, but I got to tag along for vacation. We stayed in the Chambre des Anges.....absolutely loved it! So beautiful. Incredibly comfortable bed and pillows. A couple of chairs and a day bed to sit on to read. A fantastic claw foot tub for long leisurely baths and a nice shower for a quick clean. Wi-fi to keep in contact with our kids. Le Farfadet restaurant, also run by the family, is adjacent to the property but we didn't get a chance to eat there. My husband has eaten there in the past and said it is very, very good.

Roget and Babette were very friendly but not intrusive. I'm not a breakfast eater but my husband his co-workers ate there each morning and said it was just enough and the croissants were incredible.

Would definitely stay there again!

We arrived to a warm welcome. We had booked the 'Campagna' room but when we arrived it had been given to another couple. However we were delighted as we were offered the Suite des Anges for the same price which was an incredibly romantic room (i was travelling with my boyfriend so i was very pleased with their error).

The rate for a 'standard' room is €74 and i think this is a fair price considering the position. If you have a bit of extra cash i think it would be worth splurging out to €115.

Recommend this to anyone and a plus is that Cambrai is only 1hr or so from Calais so ideal for night stay before catching morning ferry.
