Situated on a hill overlooking Houlgate this premium residence lives up to its billing. After many years of holidaying in France I decided not to venture further south this time particularly since we brought our small fog with us. Houlgate is small, quiet and delightful ( more in separate post). Blessed with wonderful September weather we are able to take advantage of the pool and Spa facilities. There is no shop in the residence but you can order baguettes and croissants from reception the day before and collect at 8.00pm. The walk into Houlgate takes about 15 minutes - 20 coming back. The houses and apartments all have sea views. Quality excellent and most staff speak better English than my French! Great value as we booked early and got good discounts.

Excellent place to tour local areas. Clean, quiet, beautiful would go back again tomorrow. Stayed at both fort mahon plage resort and the Pierre & vacancies premium residence & spa Houlgate Both these resorts were better than our expectations. Beautiful views and situation. Would always choose a room which exceeds the number you require as they can be small but adequate. Thanks

Room tip: Keep curtains closed during the day as there is no air-conditioning. Thanks

This place is amazing. Just simply the best. The view from the apartment is amazing. Seaview is just superb. Cannot fault anything. Only thing you need to have a car. No English speaking drivers to find. Other than all amazing. Worth staying again.

Great site and properties. Clean in most areas. Indoor pool only for adults, as part of spa, at supplementary cost of 20 euros per half day. Luckily we had good weather. Check in is 2pm for visits less than a week, and 5pm for a week or more. Reception and cleaning staff don't talk so unless you make a fuss, you could wait much later. 5pm is too late if you have travveled all day and have a car full of luggage.

Very quiet location, just 10 mins from lovely sandy beach. Not overly commercialised resort. The accommodation is very compact... we had a house for 8 which was a squash for 2 adults and 2 teenagers- no-one fitted in the "sleeping alcove" as the bunks were too narrow and short, so my 17yr old ended up on the sofa bed, 14yr old in the twin (no space between the beds and hardly any storage). Self catering was a challenge with no oven and only two pans, neither of which had lids. However, if you can take whatever you need to cook ...pans, utensils, etc and lots of creative ideas using only hobs and a microwave, then it's a great location.

Dear Bethan,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with the internet users.

We are pleased to read that you appreciated the location of our residence and enjoyed the sandy beach with your family.

On the other hand, we are really sorry you felt cramped in the apartment. We also take good note of your comment regarding the lack of cooking utensils and will do our best to fill it.

Hoping to welcome you again in our charming region, we wish you a lovely day.
