Hotel Saint Pierre was excellent, exploring the village was wonderful and touring the Abbey was magnificent. Got there after the tour buses left (after 7 pm) and left before they arrived (before 11 am).

The building of the abbaye was remarkable representation of architecture and labor, the construction describes the narrative of the long history of the area as you view the different material and designs in the structure, The shopping area seems a bit staged and many merchants seem as if they saw one customer too many,

Loved the old streets and all of the walking! Easy shuttle from parking area if you don't want to walk. The self guided abbey tour allowed us to stop and enjoy the views.

This was simply breathtaking! From the moment we drove around the bend and could see it up on high, we were mesmerized! Just beautiful! You should stay on the island overnight so you can experience it without the hordes of tourists.

This was one of the main items on my bucket list and I'm so glad I spent the money to visit inside the Abbey.

Whilst the Abbey might be empty, you can get an audio guide to learn more about the Abbey and this is well worth doing.

Must see in France.
