This hotel was only rated two stars. However I wanted to stay on the island. This hotel was wonderful. Our room #214 was great. We saw the sunrise out of our bathroom Window. Very special. Yes some steps but nothing compared to what you go up to get to the abbey. We went early November. Loved having the island be so quiet at night. The hotel's restaurant was closed for dinner so they referred us to another. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was a continental breakfast and was fine. The room was better than I expected. The ceiling was slanted to fit in the existing space but it made it charming. TV channels only in French. I think doing a day trip here misses something very special

Room tip: Loved room 214, two beds.

Having read the reviews, we were quite cautious and worried!
The parking was no problem, we telephoned enroute for the code. Really friendly and helpful staff, both on the phone and face to face. The room was quite high up, just below the abbey so the view from our balcony was superb...Have an early night and wake up to the sunrise. No problem with the room, only 2 stars, it was clean and met our needs.
Great breakfast, again very friendly staff.

Only used the hotel, the restaurant reviews were pretty bad. But the hotel was lovely, you do have to climb a bit to get there, but the checking was easy and we were taken to the room straight away. The room was clean, cozy and to its credit it had the biggest TV we saw in Normandy. Checkout was nice and easy, even if the restaurant staff seemed to be arguing with another set of guests.

Room tip: Get a bay view :P

Way too many steps, rude staff. Better to choose a sister hotel but I would stay off the island and just do a day trip. Too crowded, too many steps, best seen from the distance. Two nights was one too many

We arrived well into the evening after a day touring the Normandy landing beaches. On the walk in from the shuttle drop off, Mont-Saint-Michel was spectacularly lit, and the tide lapped at the entry portal. Tired after our day, our arrival experience was great - check in was a breeze, and one of the staff grabbed, mercifully, a couple of our heaviest bags and headed high up into Mont-Saint-Michel with the younger of our group following in awe and we two parents lagging behind. The climb was worth it - beautiful rooms with spectacular balconies overlooking the Mont, a small cemetery, and the coast of France. While not purporting to review the affiliated restaurant, the lamb dishes were great. One tip - if you are going out at night, leave a trail of bread crumbs, as the rooms are located in a medieval maze with multiple possible wrong turns, all with associated stairs.
