The Bagnoles Hotel is situated on the main square, in 5-10 minutes walking distance from the Lake and the casino. Bagnoles is a spa town.
The Bagnoles Hotel is nice property. The comfort room has a good size of about 20 sqm which is for French standards spacious. The room is well appointed with a King-size bed, a corner with a sofa bench, writing desk and LCD TV. Wi-Fi connection was free, fast and reliable. Room and bath room were both spotless clean. For a Comfort room we would have expected a bottle of mineral water or coffee/tea making facility. Both were not there.
The restaurant made a good impression. Unfortunately the menu did not inspire us, as proposed by the Chef were lamb on Thai curry or a fish o coconut sauce. We would have expected more traditional French cooking. There are plenty of other restaurant options in town. The breakfast is not worth the € 9.-,
There is free parking for about 10 cars in front of the hotel. Altogether this a nice place for a relaxing stay between the Loire Castles and Mont Saint Michel.

We only stayed here for one night. The reception staff were friendly & our room small but comfortable. It had a terrace overlooking the fountain in the square. The terrace could have done with a spruce up & if we had been staying longer we would have needed an extra patio chair. The bathroom was again small but adequate for our needs. But the main highlight of our stay was the evening meal. We had fois gras to start with presented in different ways. Then we had chicken tagine which was very flavoursome. To finish a plate of different deserts all delicious .
I would certainly recommend this hotel but next time would book a bigger room.

We stayed in a 3rd floor suite, which is very spacious and with an excellent bed. There is plenty of storage space and a safe.
There has been a change of ownership since our visit last year, but the new hosts are also charming. One change is that they now run the restaurant, too (previously under independent management). We ate there twice and both visits were very enjoyable. The fixed menus (formules) have a good choice and are fairly priced. There is a good wine list, but we had the house wine, which is perfectly fine.
We particularly enjoyed 2 dishes from the a la carte menu, namely the duck, and the lamb with kidney.
The only disappointment was the breakfast. There was a fruit salad, but no separate fresh fruit. The croissants were not very good and there were no other pastries, like "pain au chocolat".
The plates, dishes and spoons were very small, giving the impression that you were not supposed to eat too much. The coffee was very good.
Bagnoles is a delightful place to stay, with many interesting walks. A tip: take the free local bus, which links all the main parts of the town.

This was our first visit to Bagnoles and we found the Bagnoles hotel to be extremely comfortable, bright and welcoming. The owners could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The room was very comfortable, with a huge bed, sofa and reading lamps all over the place, small but clean shower room. Good breakfast ( not just the usual bread and crossants)- good if you want a carb break in France. Good parking and Bagnoles was delightful, a spa town on the lake. We will definitely return. This is also good for an 'en route' stop, but do take time to discover this pretty and interesting town.

What a gem! We had a super 2 night stay at this hotel in a room with a balcony overlooking the centre of the town. Very clean and quiet, with the added extra of power shutters which, when completely closed, plunged the room into complete darkness! Bliss for someone like me who cannot sleep if it is too light... Lovely welcome with very polite and friendly staff. Breakfasts good with enough choice to keep us well fed. Wifi a boon!

A warm and efficient welcome with cases carried to the room. Ours was a good size at the front overlooking the fountain but the electrically operated external shutters and double glazing ensured a great nights sleep. Comfortable beds, nice bathroom and shower, lovely towels and toiletries. A perfect stop off en route from the south of France to the channel ports.

Private car parking a bonus. Owner and staff very helpful.

The restaurant is superb, we had an exceptionally enjoyable three course meal - beautifully presented and flavoursome, which made our one night stay truly memorable. It is a lovely little town with a lake, walks, some nice bars (local cider recommended) and shops.

Don't forget to seek out the Velorail at the old station closeby. A fun 6 (and a bit) km ride out and back along the old railway through the woods and fields to a home spun turntable.
