“A little bit of Comfort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

If this were a hotel it would be a 5* establishment. From the minute we arrived, Edith the owner, could not be anymore helpful and welcoming. The rooms Are all of a good size, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. It has a fantastic garden where you are encouraged to relax with refreshments provided. The breakfast is set in a fantastic conservatory with homemade local dishes all made by Edith's own fair hand. Nothing is to much trouble. This is a must place to stay and ideal for popping along to Saumur or other places of interest on the Loire. just a couple of minutes walk to the city centre there is plenty of choice of eateries which are competitively priced.

Room Tip: All the rooms are of a very high standard

La Demeure Imperiale looked lovely on its website, but our experience exceeded our expectations. It is very beautiful. The rooms we had (both couples) were elegant.. Breakfast was what you might expect in a fine restaurant. Edith and her husband are wonderful hosts. Everything about the small hotel and the marvelous breakfast was perfect in a glass enclosed room overlooking the gardens. Since Edith was unable to prepare dinner for us, she booked a reservation at a nearby restaurant that willingly accommodated he vegetarian in our party. We were sorry that this was a one night stop over.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are beautiful. Fantastic gardens in the back.

If you go to Cholet, La Demeure Imperiale is the place to be. The accommodation is great, with large rooms that are very tastefully furnished and decorated, a beautiful veranda where an excellent breakfast is served, and a large and pleasant garden. Edith and her husband are very hospitable and helpful. The place is quiet and has private parking.
La Demeure Imperiale is very convenient if you go to Le Puy du Fou. You can to get away from the crowds for a while, and have a restful night. If you stay in Cholet long enough, do not miss the japanese garden in Maulevrier, about 12 minutes from there. It is a truly beautiful garden, one of the most important outside of Japan, which was first established about 100 years ago. The chateau and town of Clisson, between Cholet and Nantes, are also worth visiting.

Edith and her hurband will take great care of you in their beautiful house located in city center. Typical french "province" decoration, big charm, simple but of good taste, i can t thin o anything wrong as even the breakfast by the veranda is gorgeous and tasty... All this for very reasonable price!

Four of us stayed here for one night in Sept. '12. The owner and her husband do not speak fluent English, but understand it well. We spent 3 weeks in France and this was our best buy overall of all the chateaux and manor houses we stayed in. The rooms/bathrooms are very large and beautifully furnished. They provide and aperitif before you leave for dinner, and the breakfast is superb. Our only disappointment was not staying here for several days and using it as a base to explore the surrounding area. Photos on their web site are accurate.
