“Au Revoir Siblu...!”
Reviewed 8 October 2012

Generally we had a good holiday with siblu, we have been for the last 3 years and to several siblu parks and have been holidaying in france for the past 10 years or so....think this one was the siblu park we least liked. The caravans are close together like most siblu sites. We again had a 3 bed excellence which was ok. The pools are a bit grubby and need improving and they are quiet black round the edges. The lifeguards are very good though. The club house for the kids club was a bit small and had a weird layout and the stage had a 2/3ft drop to the front which i thought was quiet dangerous. The entertainment team were great as usual but the entertainment was a bit of the same, kids liked it though but did get a bit bored sometimes. The site had a smallish shop which was expensive for certain things but was handy for baguettes etc. There is a super u and a lidl quite near so not a problem for us.Was very good value and has been for the last 3 years. But now they have put the prices right up for 2013 it just dosnt justify paying all that extra and they dont book the ferries for you now so the price is not subsadised.Last year we paid £240 for our ferry (poole-cherbourg return) this year its nearly £400. We got prices for all the parks we have been to for 2013 and they have all gone up between 60 and 85 percent compared with the prices we paid for the previous years. Wouldnt mind paying extra each year as prices do rise but not that much surely... Au Revoir Siblu...!

Good camp-site with excellent Mobile Home with all you need-except a toaster-in it.Rental however was very expensive. Pros -: Very good reception staff;compact well maintained site with everything within easy reach;good but small children's playground;Beautiful town with fabulous sandy beach nearby;Good restaurant/take away on site;well stocked small shop on site;Excellent kids club with brilliant staff to look after and entertain all age groups. Cons -:Too Expensive;Pitches for mobile home far too small and cramped;Mobile home not ready until 4 pm which meant a 3 hour wait!;too far from Supermarket ,town and beach if you don't have a car; and finally the Pool area = not modern and 3 pools and deck area squeezed into a very tight small space with only TWO toilets for Male,Female AND kids to use, kids pool far too small for the amount of people using it!There is a sister site 200 yards away(Le Bois Dormant) with bigger and better poolside area BUT their kids pool is NOT heated so most families came to Bois Masson to avail of the heated pool which resulted in massive overcrowding.

Room Tip: Only use if you have your car with you as it is 3 miles from Town and beach.Excellent restaurants in...

Thank you for choosing Siblu for your holidays. We are happy that you liked our beautiful area of St Jean de Monts and our numerous facilities on site.
In reference to the size of the pitches on site, there is not a set standard, The size of the pitches is different and it varies from 80m² to 200m². Concerning the swimming-pool area, Siblu Management is examining plans of refurbishment and upgrade for 2013 and 2014.
This is true, having a car is more convenient. All car parks in the town centre and along the beaches are free. St Jean de monts is also a good place for cycling and has a lot of secured cycle paths going through the forest and along the beach.
Arrivals are expected from 4pm. I promise you that our cleaning team do their best to prepare mobile homes as quickly as possible every Saturday. I'm sorry you had to wait until 4pm.
We will take onboard all of your comments you have made and review some points with our management group to ensure the quality of our facilities and services
We hope to welcome you back sometime in the future.

The disappointment of smaller, cramped sites and north facing decking soon evaporated as we, (my husband and I, and our two sons aged 15 and 12years), were immediately seduced by the facilities at Siblu's Bois Masson site.

Our accommodation was spotlessly clean; a 2-bed Excellence with fully equiped kitchen, large freezer, spacious lounge and superb power shower.

The Siblu staff were attentive and helpful on our arrival. They were quick to resolve a fridge tray issue, some crockery and also helped us get to grips with the sofa bed in the lounge that was bliss for our 15 year old to sleep in instead of the narrow beds in the twin room.

With two pools, flumes, jacuzzi and aqua classes, visiting the pool at different times of day varied the attendance and introduced us to water polo and aerobics. The life guards were omnipresent and consciencious; (quick to enforce the pool rules), which meant I felt that our children could be at the pool without us.

Our 12 year old had hours of fun making friends around the table tennis tables and games room. He thrived on the sociability of the site. The site feels very safe.

We took our own bikes as we knew the area, and enjoyed the fabulous cycle paths through the cool, fragrant pine forests, St Jean de Monts being a popular destination with it's stunningly glittery sandy beach, and the attractive promenade, thoughtfully designed for cyclists and hosting many beach front events including fireworks - don't forget to take your lights).

This year, with our children ever growing older - and staying up later, we really appreciated the various evening entertainments and the Olympics coverage at the bar. We were never bothered by noise from the disco, even though we were very close to the facilities. The site security was discrete but effective (having seen a group of youths silently ejected from the bar one evening).

We were holidaying in peak season, expecting more traffic and a generally busy site, however, the recycling and general bin areas were always tidy and clean, staff had time for us, the site shop was always open, the supermarkets were quiet before noon.

The benefits were abundant ~ plenty of other friendly youngsters, incredibly clean and well -appointed accommodation, a fabulous swim complex, a great location for getting on your bike and exploring plus multiple clean, gently shelving beaches a short drive away for skim boarding and body boarding depending on the wave action.

I think I had a privatly owned caravan rented by siblu. The caravan and the terrace itself was lovely but the site itself is tatty and worn out. The carvan pitches are too close together with hardly room to park your car with no room for use of sunloungers unless you want to be on the road!! There are too many caravans on site in total I think they are being greedy with cramming to many on for site fees and have spoiled what once was a lovely site! the pool area was a disgrace it needs totally gutting the cafe area was at the pool was full of teenagers smoking. The supermarket was filthy and needs gutting the onsight takeaway was actually good. The bar was not our scene. The actual area is lovely if you skip through the blackpool bits! We had some lovely days out in the area. If I had got an older caravan this would of ruined my holiday with the run down caravan park but we just used it as a base and used other facilities which is abit of a con really as you have paid for the facilities within the cost of your siblu holiday. Id defo come back to the area but not to this site.

Just returned from our 8 night stay here. This is our 3rd Siblu trip with two previous trips to the Loire. There was 11 of us in total in three mobile homes. I had booked the largest Excellance model. To be honest I was pretty dissapointed. It was clean and with a huge lounge area but pretty dreary inside. The other two families had much nicer homes. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. The site compared to the Loire was very crammed in with very little space to park the car.The close proximity of the homes meant you could hear everything that was going on in the neighbours homes! I too agree with other posters that this site is in need of major investment to bring it up to the standard of the likes of Le Bois Dormant across the road and Domaine Du Dugny in the Loire. The pool area was grubby and you get to be up close and personal with other holiday makers as the sun loungers are very close together. We choose to spend most of our time across the road at Dormant.
St Jean Du Mont is a lovely seaside town with a huge well equipped beach great for walkers bikes bathers etc. We took a trip to Sallertaine to visit the local Artisan craft workshops. Well worth a visit.
Would we go back? Probally not. We would use Siblu again.

Thank you for sharing your opinion about Le Bois Masson and for your loyalty to Siblu. We are glad that you found our staff friendly and that you enjoyed the various activities offered by the beautiful area of St Jean de Monts.
We sincerely regret that you felt the site was crammed in. Each Siblu park has its own atmosphere and a different lay-out. In reference to the size of the pitches on site ,there is a variation between 80m² and 200m².
Staying at Le Bois Masson gives you the opportunity to enjoy all the facilities from Le Bois Dormant which is located across the road and which offers another pool complex, multisport pitch, etc... We are happy to note that you made the most of that opportunity. Some refurbishments are planned for the swimming pool at Le Bois Masson in 2013.
Once again thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and for continuing to choose Siblu for your holidays

This was the 4th time we have stayed at a campsite in the St Jean de Monts area. We had driven past the site on many occassions and thought we would give the site a try for our holiday this year (last two weeks in August) and now I wish we hadn't booked to stay there.

On arrival the reception area was okay and the staff were pleasant, but once we were on the site I was dissappointed with the site, we thought that the site was poorly maintained and unkept.

The caravan was nice and we had a good plot.

The pool area was old,so we walk to the Bois Dormant site and used that pool which is better layed out and we did manage to find somewhere to sit whenever we visited the pool.

The childrens park was rather small for the amount of children that were using it (especially at night), there could have been more things for the older children to play on (my children are 5 and 10).

The bar was like Butlins - 20 years ago, so dark and unwelcoming.

We do love St Jean de Monts as the beaches are great and there are lots of things to do in the area, so we will go back but not to this campiste as I know there are better ones in the area.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom Esprit + caravan with wooden decking and it was fine. The location wasn’t great, it was at the back of the park which is fine as it was lovely and quiet but they were crammed in and we’d have had nowhere to park our car if it hadn’t have been for a caravan being removed from opposite us and leaving a temporary patch of land that we were able to use. There was no room at the side of the van which you would expect and if you’d parked at the front, we would have been worried someone would have hit it trying to pass on the skinny road.
On exploring the site there are some lovely areas where caravans are sited but we weren't lucky to be placed there.
The site is becoming run down, the entertainment area is grubby and on the short visit we made the entertainment also wasn’t up to much so we didn’t return.
There is a shop on site and a play park which the kids enjoyed.
The pool is warm and the slides were great fun but the baby splash zone inside is run down and on concrete floor! I wouldn’t have wanted to use the indoor pool.
The staff on reception were really lovely and helpful though especially Karen.
We hired bikes and explored the brilliant bike paths for a day. They are flat and mostly away from the main road. Take your own bikes if you can as hiring is expensive.
The Puy du Fou park is AMAZING and although a 90 minute drive, it’s well worth the trip.
Noirmoutier island is also worth a vist and is only 25 minutes drive away. Make sure you time it right with the tide so you get to cross the Passage du Gois, it’s a sight to see.
The local beach is sandy and clean and about 7km long. The local town has a real seaside feel with lots to see.
There is a Lidl just up the road which is much cheaper than the local Super U or Intermarche.
We enjoyed the area but would not return to this Siblu site.
