“Great family holiday”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

3rd time visiting Le Bois Masson with husband and children aged 9 and 6. Kids love the freedom they have to ride their bikes around the campsite. Pool area has received major investment since last season and looks great. Tom who runs the kid clubs is also great. My children didn't go into the clubs this year but Tom remembered us from last year. Some of the reception staff are new this year but the service they provided was second to none. I'd like to personally mention Lisa who really helped us communicate with the Renault garage when we had a puncture. Lifeguards were quite strict but that's appreciated when you have children and water. Josh and Matt Keys were lovely. Had a couple of days when the weather was overcast so we went to Planete Sauvage which my children really enjoyed and the butterfly house in Noirmoutier - both great days out. A little further afield we went to a small town called Apremont where there was a Chateaux and also a beach area (plage). Not really what I would call a beach but a sandy area which leads onto the lake. There's also a wooden pirate shop for the children to play on along with climbing frames and a water chute into a pool - all of which were free. The kids loved it. There's plenty of picnic tables to eat at and lot of free parking opposite the 'beach' area. Also worth a visit is the night market at St Jean De Monts which is in the Casino area of town. There's also a night hippy market in St Gilles Croix de Vie. Beautiful postcard town. Already re-booked Le Bois Masson for next year -children can't wait. Drive from Calais takes about 7 hours.

This was our third trip to Le Bois Masson, last time we visited was in 2010 and we were immediately impressed with the changes made, especially in the pool area.
Check in was short and sweet, the girls on reception couldnt help enough. Accommodation was spotless, it was definitely worth paying the extra for a terrace - highly recommended. Bar prices were as you would expect, although there was happy hour a couple of nights!
Siblu entertainments team led by the dynamic Christ were brilliant, kept my teenagers entertained all day and night. The shows were great especially Matilda.
Looking forward to returning next year.

Room Tip: Worth paying more and having a terrace

Just returned from our fourth visit to Masson.
The site has been cleaned up since the 2012 season and the pool area has received a much needed makeover, what was grubby last year is sparkling and clean this year. The quality and standard of our mobile home was excellent.
Our check in experience was poor, we had paid for a travel cot and it was not in the home when we arrived. I had to visit reception twice to get the cot and when they eventually gave me one in reception, it was of very poor standard. It was damp and the base was broken.
The other area of concern was the fact that my sons bike was stolen from outside our home. We locked our bikes when we were around the site but not outside the mobile home. I reported the theft to SIBLU and was informed that they were having issues with bike theft and 11 bikes had been reported stolen that week. SIBLU, if you have a problem with bike theft on this site, please tell customers on check-in to lock bikes outside the mobile homes! The theft caused great upset to our son. Sorry SIBLU this will be our last visit to Masson. I can expect something like this to happen if I leave my bike around the beach or in town but I don't expect to be robbed on site.

We have recently returned from our 3rd short stay at Les Bois Masson in as many years. Last year we felt the site needed a little bit of TLC and upon our return this year it was noticed immediately that this had happened and in fact was still underway.
The accommodation was spotless and as comfortable as ever, the bar was brighter and more open but still a little dated. The pool area was very impressive, the whole park looked clean and neat with new homes being installed during our stay. In fact we saw 4 new homes during our 5 day stay.
It was good to see some familiar faces amongst the staff who were as ever most helpful. Thank you Jamie for helping change the innertube on my sons bike......
A little biased on my part, but I would finally like to say a massive congratulations to the entertainment team, you all have so much energy and enthusiasm in the shows you perform and the entertainment you provide, keep it up, you are all true entertainers and by far the best team.

Room Tip: Ask what size the single beds are, last year we had tiny beds and this year they were almost single...

This was our holiday home site for 13 years but I am afraid the site has become very untidy with lots of dirty mobiles and the fees are just ridiculous. We have moved to a fantastic site near St Gilles Croix de Vie for a fraction of the cost. I would suggest people look around at other sites on the Vendee and if you do want to go there book direct with an owner not through Siblu and save yourselves a lot of money ! Bye Bye Siblu Hello Domaine de la Michelerie

Generally we had a good holiday with siblu, we have been for the last 3 years and to several siblu parks and have been holidaying in france for the past 10 years or so....think this one was the siblu park we least liked. The caravans are close together like most siblu sites. We again had a 3 bed excellence which was ok. The pools are a bit grubby and need improving and they are quiet black round the edges. The lifeguards are very good though. The club house for the kids club was a bit small and had a weird layout and the stage had a 2/3ft drop to the front which i thought was quiet dangerous. The entertainment team were great as usual but the entertainment was a bit of the same, kids liked it though but did get a bit bored sometimes. The site had a smallish shop which was expensive for certain things but was handy for baguettes etc. There is a super u and a lidl quite near so not a problem for us.Was very good value and has been for the last 3 years. But now they have put the prices right up for 2013 it just dosnt justify paying all that extra and they dont book the ferries for you now so the price is not subsadised.Last year we paid £240 for our ferry (poole-cherbourg return) this year its nearly £400. We got prices for all the parks we have been to for 2013 and they have all gone up between 60 and 85 percent compared with the prices we paid for the previous years. Wouldnt mind paying extra each year as prices do rise but not that much surely... Au Revoir Siblu...!

We would like to thank you for your loyalty to Siblu and your kind comments about the staff at the swimming-pool and for the entertainment. Our teams work hard to make sure everybody is having great holidays.

We have different kind of booking offers throughout the year; do not hesitate to have a look at our website or to contact our call centre to find out the latest offers which might suit you better.

Good camp-site with excellent Mobile Home with all you need-except a toaster-in it.Rental however was very expensive. Pros -: Very good reception staff;compact well maintained site with everything within easy reach;good but small children's playground;Beautiful town with fabulous sandy beach nearby;Good restaurant/take away on site;well stocked small shop on site;Excellent kids club with brilliant staff to look after and entertain all age groups. Cons -:Too Expensive;Pitches for mobile home far too small and cramped;Mobile home not ready until 4 pm which meant a 3 hour wait!;too far from Supermarket ,town and beach if you don't have a car; and finally the Pool area = not modern and 3 pools and deck area squeezed into a very tight small space with only TWO toilets for Male,Female AND kids to use, kids pool far too small for the amount of people using it!There is a sister site 200 yards away(Le Bois Dormant) with bigger and better poolside area BUT their kids pool is NOT heated so most families came to Bois Masson to avail of the heated pool which resulted in massive overcrowding.

Room Tip: Only use if you have your car with you as it is 3 miles from Town and beach.Excellent restaurants in...

Thank you for choosing Siblu for your holidays. We are happy that you liked our beautiful area of St Jean de Monts and our numerous facilities on site.
In reference to the size of the pitches on site, there is not a set standard, The size of the pitches is different and it varies from 80m² to 200m². Concerning the swimming-pool area, Siblu Management is examining plans of refurbishment and upgrade for 2013 and 2014.
This is true, having a car is more convenient. All car parks in the town centre and along the beaches are free. St Jean de monts is also a good place for cycling and has a lot of secured cycle paths going through the forest and along the beach.
Arrivals are expected from 4pm. I promise you that our cleaning team do their best to prepare mobile homes as quickly as possible every Saturday. I'm sorry you had to wait until 4pm.
We will take onboard all of your comments you have made and review some points with our management group to ensure the quality of our facilities and services
We hope to welcome you back sometime in the future.
