“Nice hotel, great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

This hotel is located across the street from the beautiful cathedral and is within easy walking distance to restaurants. Hotel staff made great recommendations for places to eat. There is even a small balcony which overlooks the street.

Room Tip: Ask for a room which faces the cathedral!

I find it hard to believe that this hotel takes the top spot in Amiens, as there must be better options. We had a very good stay but have stayed at better Mercure hotels. My husband and I stayed here for two nights in April and had a room with a view of the cathedral. The staff spoke excellent English and were incredibly helpful finding an obscure GPS charger in town. They also booked a reservation at their hotel for us as well.

Hotel: The hotel is situated about five minutes walk from the St. Leu water district and about a minute walk to the cathedral. The car park is also about s two minute walk away. There is a lift (elevator) as well as restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner.

Rooms: The rooms are a good size and have all the necessities. Many of the rooms have a view of the cathedral which is nice, but having a room that faces the street can be noisy and loud at night when you're trying to sleep. There are extra pillows in the closet which we discovered on our second night. Overall the room slept good.

Food: The hotel restaurant opens for dinner at 7:00pm and has good options. Highly recommend reservations, as the restaurant fills up fast. The service isn't very good since there was only one waitress, but she spoke good English. Food was good, but not excellent.

Car Park: The car park is St. Leu car park and is situated a little strange. It's easiest to drive to the hotel first, then drive to the car park as we passed it on our way in. The entrance and exit are on the north side of the building, with the pedestrian exit being on the west side of the building (the back). This exit will put you out on the water, follow it down to the nearest cross street and you'll see the Mercure. It was about 6 Euro for 24 hours. The car park goes down, underground with the entrance being on level 0, the first floor down on level -1 and so on. We parked on -2 which had ample parking. There is a lift (elevator) to take you up to the pedestrian exit. We were worried about leaving our car here overnight, but it was safe for two days. For more information google St. Leu car park Amiens.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the cathedral have a great view, but can be noisy and loud, especially on the weekend.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting some of the battlefields and loved this hotel.

It is right next to the Cathedral with car parking a short distance away.

Room was modern, large, clean and extremely comfortable. Wifi was complementary and worked well. The bathroom was really impressive as well.

We found the staff to be really friendly and helpful especially in the breakfast room and front desk.

The breakfast provided was awesome - lots of variety.

We will definatly stay here again on our return and highly recommend this hotel.

You can't wrong booking your stay in Amiens at this very comfortable hotel. It is in a fantastic location, a stones throw from the Cathedral, and for us an easy walk with luggage from the Amiens Train Station (15 to 20 mins). The staff were SO lovely, in particular at the restaurant and they were very friendly and patient with our very limited French!

Despite being there to do a day tour of the Australian Memorials and Battlefields of Villers Bretennoux we were very surprised on our arrival to see the little Australian Flags and posters in the reception area showing the hotels acknowledgement of the Aussies who had travelled to the area for the Anzac Day services. Seeing the support of all the Australians by the people of Amiens and also Villers Bretennoux was something I did not expect and it's nice to know that the people of the area have not forgotten the sacrifices of our soldiers almost a century ago, Thank You!

At last, a very good hotel in Amiens. After many previous visits to less acceptable hotels, this hotel makes a pleasant change. It is very modern and in a perfect location in the centre of the city, right next tot the cathedral. The rooms are spacious and contain everything you need. Wifi is free and reasonably fast. The restaurant is very good, and the staff are polite. I ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was very good. I did not take breakfast as for me this was too expensive at 17 euro. Parking is also a little bit of a hassle as you have to use a very cramped underground parking 5-10 mins walk away.

Right next to the magnificent cathedral and within 5-10 minute walk of the 'old' district' with its good selection of riverside restaurants. Modern, well appointed and scrupulously clean. We stayed in a double room with a sofa bed for our teenage daughter: very pleased to find separate bathroom and WC, which made sharing the facilities much more convenient. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
