Chose this restaurant because of its proximity to Hotel Crystal and we were delighted. One duck and one tournedos went down very well, followed by the mouse and profiteroles which brought a look of delight to my son's face when he saw them on the menu, only surpassed when he tasted them.

I understand what others have said about atmosphere but the food was perfect bistro fare and the location meant less walking for tired legs so we didn't care.

A cut above the standard bistro fare. The ficelle Picardie (regional speciality) was lovely – very delicate unlike the same dish I had elsewhere the next day.
The duck with peaches was cooked well (medium was actually medium and not raw as can sometimes be the case in France) and had a delicate salad with it. The cod dish was fine and my partner enjoyed the chevre salad very much. Good value for money – 81 euros for 2 courses each, pre-dinner drinks, a demi-carafe of wine and coffees to finish.

We drove into Amiens looking for some where to eat after a 8 hour drive from the Alps. On a Saturday night it was full of locals and the food and service was excellent. Uncomplicated menu ( in french only) no problems there, but good range of meals one of us is a Veggie, good service and excellent accompanying wines. I fed 4 big teenagers for a very reasonable cost . I would thoroughly recommend Les Marronniers.

Crowded with a combination of local patrons and tourists, it offers a few simple options. The magret de canard and chicken cous cous we tried were fine, if unsurprising.

We ordered "poire belle Hélene" as dessert as it used to be our regular dessert in Switzerland so many years ago, and found it too trivial to be satisfactory: canned, synthetic spray whipped cream, a run-of-the-mill chocolate sauce and canned pears in syrup. A minor shame, still spoiling the experience.

This is a very good modern brasserie. Not the most characterful room in an unassuming building but it delivers good food and a good standard of service. All the dishes were particularly well presented for a restaurant in this price bracket, and most importantly all well cooked. Beef fillet topped with foire gras was generous in the extreme. Not the prissy round of a tournedos but a proper piece of meat. The highlight of four good courses. The wine order was complicated by the staff to the point of mild annoyance but the misseeving turned out as a decent bottle so the damage was limited. If there were more brasseries like this the world would be a better place and I would be fatter.
