“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014

Recently stayed at Le Quatorze in Amiens before attending the dawn service at Villers Bretonneux. We had a really lovely 3 night stay and found Laure to be a warm & friendly host. She organised transport for us to the memorial service and provided us with a room full of charm and character. We certainly got the French experience we were hoping for..... Thanks Laure.

We stayed at le 94 in late March for 1 night. Laure was easy to contact and communicate with in the time leading up to our arrival and she was very welcoming and helpful upon our arrival. She introduced us to Amiens, made restaurant recommendations, and had books for us to use. We had a delicious breakfast that she provided. The suite was comfortable and clean. We had a brief but very nice stay.

My sister and I stayed for three nights while visiting friends in Amiens! The bed and breakfast is absolutely a great find. The house, the room, the living/breakfast room the garden and terrace ...all are decorated with such an original taste and eye for detail! Laure is such a warm, wellcoming hostess that you feel at home! She can give you lots of info of sights to see, restaurants to eat at and where to go shopping! Le quatorze is the place to stay when visiting the Amiens region!!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the front room (first floor) with private bathroom and the decoration is divine!!!!!

stayed for a night in early october and if we return to amiens in the future we'd certainly go back to Le Quatorze. our room was delightful - very witty and engaging decoration and it was clean, well equiped and very comfortable. laure also made our night by recommending an excellent restaurant on the quai - she obviously summed us up and recognised what we'd appreciate! breakfast was terrific - good bread with fantastic jams made by her husband (don't sell the husband!) and we particularly liked being given french style bowls rather than mugs for our coffee. she was fun and friendly and made us very welcome - i'd recommend this b&b to anyone who appreciates thoughtfulness. the design touches were charming, the hostess even more so!

Room Tip: we had "aux cervidés" which in spite of being at the front of the house was quiet.

This review is long overdue. My husband and I stayed with Laure for 3 nights. Le Quatorze was one of our favourite places to stay during our month-long trip to France. Laure was a welcoming hostess. She told us all about the history of the house and provided advice re: restaurants and local sights on top of the WWI memorials that we planned to visit. This was a welcome contrast to some hotels whose employees are proficient, but not overly helpful. The house is one of those charming old time buildings. Laure’s whimsical decoration enhances its beauty and makes you feel at the same time at home and in a fairy tale. Practically speaking, our room was clean, comfortable and larger than we expected for travelling in Europe (our room was the one named “Aux Cervides”). We were able to use the fridge to store some groceries purchased at the Carrefour down the street and use the kitchen to cook a few nice dinners while we were there. It was a nice break from eating out all the time. Breakfast was delicious. There was a huge spread of freshly baked pastries, breads, jams etc., but for me, nothing was like the fresh croissants. The house is on a quiet street where we had no trouble finding parking.
I noted a review that complained about noise. It is true the floorboards creak and you can hear heavy footsteps, but that is to be expected as it is an old house. We didn’t have an issue sleeping on the middle floor and had a wonderful sleep each night. If you are still concerned about having noisy people on the floor above you, book the room on the top floor.

We had a wonderful stay with Laure earlier this year. What a wonderful host. As others have said she makes you welcome and it is such a homely B&B. Laure is definitely in the right job as she is such a warm and friendly person to us and the others who stayed while we were there. It is definitely a fantastic base as someone else has said for the Battlefield Tour of the Somme.(That tour is such a worthwhile and moving experience - every Australian should do it). Laure cannot do enough for you. My brother needs to have a gluten -free diet and once Laure found this out she said she would get her baker to bake some gluten-free bread for him, which she did. We chatted at length and she gave us wonderful information about the town and a history lesson concerning the buildings and the street names. On the day we were leaving it started to rain so we asked Laure if we could ring a taxi. No - Laure said she would drive us for which we were very grateful. No hesitation in recommending Laure's B&B to anyone. Her hospitality was so lovely to experience.

I passed two nights at this b&b and i confirm the good reviews from other guests.

The house has an "old looking charme", with creaky floors, wooden doors and old furnitures. Everything was very clean and well kept.

My room was on the 2nd floor with adjacent bathroom. I liked the "homing" touch of adding old pictures which contribute to the charming atmosphere.

Breakfast is typical french, with croissants, bread and jams; it's served in the common living room which is always accessible, as is the kitchen (for a cup of tea or even to cook a meal).

Despite having a family to look after, Laure manages to be a great host: welcoming, full of advices on tours, on what to see and where to eat.
She gave me some valuable guides on the IWW battlefields and good advices on restaurants (La Clef des Champs, just across the main road is a great choise in the neighborhood).

The only downside is that the b&b is a 15min walk from the city centre but, if walking is not an option for you, bus is frequent and nearby and there are even free bikes.

Room Tip: Stairs are steep, if you think you may have problems just ask for a room on the lower floors
