“Beautiful and uplifting”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

Absolutely gorgeous cathedral, apparently the largest in France and free to enter. The stained glass is beautiful and just everything about the cathedral is awe inspiring. Set in the lovely town of Amien which we adored, it is a wonderful day out from paris.

On our first visit "john the baptist's" head was on display.. our next two visits he was absent.

The architecture and windows are breathtaking!

After your visit if you exit from front of building turn left and keep walking across the square, you will be in front of a little bar/cafe that serves the very best coffee and hot chocolate.

“Wonderful feeling of light”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

The interior is most impressive, the eyes being drawn upward by the many pillars, but with much to see, from the mailed maze, to the stained glass and the interesting carvings. Entrance was free, but we chose to hire audio guides from the tourist office, which was worthwhile, as we would have missed a good deal had we not had those.
