We stayed at the Hotel Marotte for one night during a driving holiday around France for our anniversary.

We were made to feel very welcome by Estelle upon our arrival and was given information about the local area etc.

We had booked a cosy room and were worried that it may have been a less spacious room, however we were pleasantly surprised at the size of our room. The room was very comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated and furnished and the en-suite was spacious with a decent shower.

There is a parking space which guests can pay to use during their stay. We had reserved this space, but were having difficulty finding the hotel and so we parked our car in a nearby secure underground car park. The hotel were fine with this and did not charge us for the parking space we had reserved.

The only negative point about the hotel was the lack of a decent air conditioning system. We were fortunate to arrive in Amiens when there was heatwave. The room was very hot with the only form of air conditioning being a small unit above the door. The windows did open, however it took quite a while for the room to cool down to what was a reasonable level for us.

We loved our stay at the Marotte and we felt it was definitely worth paying a little more as it was money well spent for the high standard of decoration and comfort we experienced. We would stay there again if we were visiting Amiens.

A nice hotel. Rated as 3,5 stars.
Parking space private however open for other visitors as the car is placed at the entrance of the hotel. Room is OK however not soundproof.

Breakfast at the room is recommended!
Location of the hotel very nice in the city centre.

Room Tip: Prefer a room not at the street side.

Small but nice hotel in the center of Amiens within short walking distance to the main attractions in Amiens. The rooms were spacious and nice and the bathroom very fine. As the hotel was small there is no 24 hours service and the restaurant is only for breakfast, which was good. I will bring my wife next time around.

The hotel is located in a nice pedestrian street in the city centre. The building is beautifully renovated with lots of care. The owners are very welcoming and pay attention to the needs of every guest, which in our case was linked to our one year old son (the baby cot was ready upon our arrival, high chair was waiting for us in the morning in the breakfast room). More than a hotel the concept is the one of B&B where you are taken care of directly by the owners which adds to the experience a personal touch. The room was very nice and spacious, while the bedding is also of high quality. Most hotels in Amiens seem to be run down, but the hotel Marotte really stands out. It is not cheap but I am happy to pay the money to hard working people like this couple. Would recommend!

We stayed one night with our dog, the hotel team were exceptional. Helpful, hospitable and welcoming. The room was great and the hotel's location excellent for access to Central Amiens. Breakfast was very personal, great quality with fast and efficient service.

We booked the hotel as a base whist touring the Somme battlefields, we stayed on the top floor in the old side of the hotel in the Chalet room which was both luxurious and spacious.
Estelle very kindly recommended a location for an evening meal and sorted out a reservation both of which were much appreciated.
The hotel is modern, clean, luxurious and benefits from a very personal touch from all involved and we would recommend very highly.

Room Tip: Parking is limited so be sure to book a space

The hotel is actually easy to find with an up to date SatNav, centrally located and within easy walking distance of the cathedral, the riverside area and many bars and restaurants. The welcome was everything that has been described by other reviewers, and Estelle could not have been more helpful in booking restaurants for us in the evenings. The car park is small, but well worth the reasonable fee in order to have your vehicle right at hand. Our room was large and very well appointed. Breakfast was excellent, if perhaps a little expensive - but that is a very minor comment on what is a really excellent, beautifully appointed and very well run hotel. Amiens is not perhaps the most beautiful city in the world (the cathedral apart), but this hotel really stands out as being of a very high standard. It is still fairly new, and I hope it is successful - it deserves to be. Good luck!
