Great place to visit, Gardens and building great. We've seen weddings in the past and they look really good. Good place for photos.

“Stunning views”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

Beautiful historical building. Well worth a visit no matter what your age is. Stunning views from the top of the belfry. Very close to the port of Calais. So if you are just there for a short trip. Be sure to visit......:-)

“Looks like a glittering palace in the sunshine!”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

So much to see here and you can get a ticket for the Bouves and the tower for a reduced rate. The tunnels were interesting, but we had to join a French group and although the guide and the rest of the group were really friendly and helped us understand, it was hard work. A floral tribute to 'water' was the theme of several displays by a well known designer and there were sound effects to go with each one. If you go, wear good shoes as it can be a bit slippery and watch your head!
The Belffoi has a lift and then a few steps to the top from which there are spectacular views of Arras and the surrounding countryside - you can even see the traffic wardens at work!
Both visits recommended.

“a beautiful building”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

The gardens are beautiful and you get to see the famous statue of Les Six Bourgeois. There are signs that tell you a bit more about the history of the building and who the Six Bourgeois were and what role they played when Calais was taken by the English.
You can get inside the building for free, which is worth is as it's beautiful inside and often you can see some displays of local art.
if you fancy it, you can also get to the top of the tower (the Beffroi), which is fairly new as it's only been restored. It's a great occasion for you to get to see Calais from above and have local guides telling you more about the building and the city. There is a 5 euros fee to get to the tower but the town hall and the gardens are free.
