“Probably the best Budgte Hotel in Calais”
Reviewed 19 June 2012

Just the job for a quick overnight stay in Calais, Having stayed at most of the hotels, budget and more luxurious in Calais, this is probably the best of the Budget Hotels, its clean, beds are reasonably comfortable with plenty of car parking space. Staff are always helpful, and food value for money. Would happily stay there again.

Very friendly staff who will help with everything and anything that you need.
Free Wifi access is available on if you ask for it.
Situated very close to the Euro Tunnel and channel crossing as well as local shops / amenities.
Reasonably priced restaurant and rooms small but clean.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times as it is convenient as an overnight stop for my onward journey’s. The hotel is clean and what you would expect for budget accommodation and is not far from the Eurotunnel exit. A point of interest for pet owners is that pets are presumably permitted as when I arrived in one of the room’s opposite to mine there was the sound of the hound of the Baskervilles baying for the blood of Sherlock Holmes. Happily the beast quietened down either when the owners returned to their room or alternatively one of the other guests in an adjacent room gained access and finished it off with a bed side lamp. Either way I had a good nights sleep. Unfortunately I arrived too late to visit the restaurant to be able to access whether or not mustard was available , but as the staff are so friendly I am hoping it was.

We stayed here for one night on our way to the Somme, just minutes from the Eurotunnel and easy to find, rooms were quite small and basically just did the job of giving you some head down and shower or vice versa if you like.
The breakfast was quite nice with the typical french offerings and the staff were pleasant enough.
As the saying goes " you only get what you pay for " but will certainly stay here again .

We needed a hotel for one night prior to an early morning train back to England, and this was ideal. Clean, basic bedroom with kettle and tea/coffee. Good on-site restaurant with excellent choices. For only 26€ for the two of us we had a self service buffet starter with superb variety, a home made salmon lasagne main course, coffee and ½ litre of wine.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay on way to, or way back from, France, then this ideal.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are away from the main road and are therefore quieter.

If your looking for a cheapish clean place to stay then this is fine. The room was clean although very small dated and a little worn. The bed has clearly seen a lot of travellers and the décor has also seen better days, the pillows were comfy and the towels were clean, if staying here again I would definitely book the Opal Suite for an extra 20 Euro it would probably feel less cellist. Staff were helpful and pleasant and the location is really good for shopping and eating, the only downside was guests quite noisy walls thins and plumbing noises that travel no internal chains or bolts for the door. If your used to something swishier give this a miss. The photos are a little airbrushed if you get my meaning, its a bums in beds kinda place but plenty of hot water.

Room Tip: book opal suite or rooms in the front to keep an eye on your car
