“Budget Room don't expect a lot”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

Recently stayed here and have noticed a deterioration of the hotel over the past couple of years, there is no where in bathroom to hang towels or clothes, no additional places to put your suitcase either. Flooring not very clean, television didn't work for 3 days & no compensation was given or even mentioned, had to ask for clean towels after 2 days as room was not cleaned either.
Breakfast for 7.50 euros really not worth it usually continental breakfast where you can get full English for £7.00 in Coquelles. Staff in the restaurant are really great and speak good English & the meals are good for dinner & fresh produce is always used, same about the rooms as the restaurant is great

Room Tip: There are no rooms with a sea view only car park rear or side, noise doors and you can here the peop...

Stayed here again in May 2014, this time with our baby daughter. The hotel provided a cot free of charge. The staff are always welcoming. We always pick a sea view room, and that way we know that our car will be parked pretty much outside the bedroom window - handy when bringing back wine!
During this stay we had dinner here for the first time. Had we wanted a larger meal we would have ventured to one of the many excellent restaurants in Calais, such as Du Vignoble Du Verre, Histoire Ancienne, or Le Grand Bleu - (See separate reviews). The food was fine, and the wine inexpensive.

The staff are always very welcoming

We would definitely recommend

We booked this hotel online and asked for a sea view room. Unfortunately I don't think any rooms have views of the sea even though it is just across the road. Instead we had a nice view of the car park.
I booked a double room and when I ask for a double room I expect a double bed not two singles pushed together.
The bed was very hard which I found quite uncomfortable.
The room next door had a dog with them which decided to start barking at about 5.00am.
The shower was very powerful but there was no shower curtain so you couldn't get the full benefit of it without flooding the bathroom. Also the toilet seat was broken.
The wi-fi worked really well and the breakfast wasn't too bad.
I don't think I would stay here again as I have stayed in cheaper hotels in Calais and had a much better stay.

We chose to stop here because we had a 1000km trek the next day and the rooms were clean and basic, reasonably quiet but not very soundproofed. We ate in the fish restaurant which was packed and excellent food. The location though on the beach is not that close to Calais town centre, we attempted to walk into town and it was too far.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and had different experiences. First night was booked online and we could choose whether to have their breakfast buffet (7.50 Euro)and pay for the room the following morning. The 2nd night was as a walk in, but had to pay everything upfront. Rooms were clean and atypical of a budget holiday hotel, and popular with travellers stopping over on the way t the continent or holiday makers enjoying the beach which was about 200 meters over the road. The rooms has all the basics, but was not very noise proof. Room rates vary during the year, and there is a 70 cents tax per person per day. Buffet wise the selection was not that great, but enough to last the morning on the road. WiFi was free, but not available in the rooms further away from the main lobby, as we found out on the 2nd stay.
Car parking is free.

After the warm welcome, we had high hopes for this hotel. Unfortunately, they rapidly diminished. The food was well-priced but very average, the walls were so thin we were kept awake all night by doors slamming and people walking about, one of our towels was covered in blood when we went to use it. When staying in places like this, you expect them to be ordinary as they are obviously relying on the trade of people doing overnight stops in and out of France and not the type of clientele who will be staying in one place for too long but there are far better hotels in Calais that give a more rested stay for the same sort of money.

This is a great hotel to reach when you are off the ferry.
We arrived here about 9.30 pm.
The romms are a cross between a travelodge and a prem inn..
Bed was comfy..The shower worked and there was tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
The bar was open till midnight and reasonable priced.
We didnt have food , but othere guests seemed to enjoy the fare.
The location of the hotel is right on the beach and I imagine it is great in the summer !
