This Logis web site says "the hotel will win your heart" I don't think so!
Chosen for it's location to visit the Somme battlefields, it has a high opinion of itself and charges accordingly. Except that the double rooms are the size of a rabbit hutch, the toilet in the bathroom is less than 3 feet (1metre) from the bed with a door that you can put your arm between it and the frame. We've stayed in enough French hotels to realise that the standards are 'flexible' but this is no more than one star at most and that's being generous. Given that the Logis chain ar3e usually quite good, this was a disappointment and we won't stay there again

We stayed at this hotel for one night whilst visiting various WW1 sites.

The hotel is located centrally in the town of Peronne, although off the main square and on a quiet street.

Our cosy little room was up narrow stairs on the 4th floor with sloping ceiling but a nice view over the town (see pic). If you don't like lots of stairs it might be worth specifying a room on a lower floor when you book.

Parking is on-street, but there was plenty of space and it was a quiet road.

The bathroom was almost as large as the bedroom, and the shower took many minutes to run hot water, but did so eventually.

The room was decorated in a very french, and pretty, fashion but the hallways, particularly on the higher floors, may not be to everyone's taste so we can't guarantee the other rooms.

The roof outside the window needed cleaning as it looked like some pigeons had been spending a lot of time there. Didn't affect us though.

Staff were friendly but spoke little english so if you don't speak at least a little french this might not be the place for you.

The restaurant was decorated beautifully and the food was excellent and good value. The pichets of house wine were very nice and the steak was cooked to perfection - although the curried strawberry dessert was something of a novelty.

Peronne is a pretty town with an interesting war museum - to which you get reduced entry by staying at the Hostellerie.

Breakfast was pleasant with fresh coffee, pastries, bread and jam.
