We stayed here to visit WW1 war graves. Prior to booking we checked on restuarants in Ribemont and were told the Mouton Noir was open daily, except Sundays. Unfortunately this was not so and only opened when the owners felt like it. The place was also uninviting. We were also told that you coukdvwalk to the restuarant which was also difficult.
The Orangery was a nice environment with electric heating, needed in the evening. It had a very modern kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen need some practical utensils in it for cooking, such as tongs etc. The bathroom had a shower which was extremely difficult to switch off (my wife could not turn the control as it was so stiff). During the week the toilet also started to block but this was quickly sorted by the owner.
We stayed here for 3 nights on the last leg of our honeymoon. It was a perfect last stop for us. The Orangery is lovely. Recently renovated..it has everything you could need. The building is full of light, typical of an orangery building of old. The Chateau is situated approx 2 hours from the coast making it an ideal stop on your way either up or down the country. We travelled to Zeebrugge for the boat back to Hull. There is easy access to the local supermarket which is quite large and sells most things. The setting is quiet but that was fine for us. We would Def visit again.
