Easy to find, just off the motorway. Huge Auchan hyper market nearby and new , clean McDonalds just along the road. Check in efficiently done all in French , woohoo! Used all my best French and wasn't immediately put off by a response in English! Mind you, this was mainly because the woman( think it was the same one mentioned by another recent reviewer) was very unfriendly and seemed intent on speaking as fast as she could in French, luckily, having stayed in campaniles many times, I knew what questions she would ask. Why do these people feel they can be so downright rude, like they are doing you a favour letting you stay at the place? Anyway, the room was very clean, the bed and all bedding spotless and the bed was very comfortable indeed. Plenty of hot water, towels, shower gel etc and a reasonable hairdryer, good tv, was able to watch a bit of the olympics, quite funny really, watched Nicola Adams beat the French girl and the only commentary / interview was with their boxer and they only showed the silver medal being presented and chopped off the presentation of the gold medal !! LOL! Think we must have really offended the French somehow ? Good breakfast, standard campanile fare nicely presented, again sadly an unfriendly, miserable faced member of staff, never mind I keep telling myself, we are just here spending lots of money in your...Easy to find, just off the motorway. Good breakfast, standard campanile fare nicely presented, again sadly an unfriendly, miserable faced member of staff, never mind I keep telling myself, we are just here spending lots of money in your country, don't feel you have to be pleasant! A couple of things to note- behind the campanile is another cheap hotel ? Premier Class, some strange comings and goings and very noisy talking and cackling till late and then at 6am a group of young men knocking, seemingly randomly on various doors and then when they didn't get a response they sloped off down the road !! All very odd. The other thing to mention is that there is no aircon in the rooms, we were fine as it was a cooler night, but could easily get hot in the small rooms.
Very handy stopover after a long journey from the south , easy access back to the motorway, we put the sat nav on and ' Brunhilda' said " please follow the road for 100 miles" , and that's what we did, cruise control at 130km (ish) all the way, very quiet road, left the campanile at 7.45, arrived at the tunnel in about an hour and a half, onto shuttle and back in England by 10.25, just the four hour drive home then on very busy roads!More
