We were wandering around Chatellerault wondering why a French town didn't sem to have any restaurants when we stumbled across La Gourmandine hotel / restaurant and gratefully dived in. It was more expensive than we had been looking for at a minimum menu of 39 Euros , but the food was fantastic. We ate outside in a garden surrounded by huge Oleanders in pots and other exotic flowers under a delightful variety of awnings and lights and had a fantastic evening.
