A very pleasant mornings rest here you can listen to how the salt is gathered by the people on site here, and if brave go for a canoe trip (not for us to old and stiff to get in one of those) anyway nice little shop here to buy your fleur de sel. great idea for gifts we find, and to use at home it tastes diffent and better than the commercial stuff!
If you go in the afternoon wear a hat or take a brolly there is no shade, I know I bang on about this in my reviews, but after years of seeing people red as snooker balls, its better than the pain.

Reasonably cheap canoe hire, both Canadian and kayaks, went with 2 teenagers, and we managed to get some serious exercise done. Having said that, there's not a lot to see, there a few channels to row through, inept people to avoid and/or crash into into, and then a big open lake, which you can paddle to the end of and back, see how fast you can go, and well, that's about it.. Oh and there's a gift shop selling salt packaged in a hundred different ways should you be desperate for gifts to take home (or really like salt).

Check when the tides are before you go, as it's only really open when the tide is in and the channels are flooded.

Good fun with the canoe trip. You pay for the canoe not the time so you can happily spend a couple of hours travelling around the Salines. We visited Les Sables in the morning and called here on our way home and it was a great end to the day.

Great fun - quiet, relaxing. Great way to spend an hour. You will get wet though, so it's a good idea to wear swimming trunks!

a short walk from our site, great value for money as no time limit. we had two, two man canoes which is better for the kids. beware the mid day sun, as there is no shade.
