“Unusual and good experience”
Reviewed 6 December 2013

This is a very unusual little restaurant and if you sit upstairs it is ok when sitting but a bit claustrophobic when standing. But it is worth it! The tapas like dishes are lovely and the service is superb

“Completely unexpected!”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

Rated this as one of the best not for a single reason but for a whole combination. This wonderfully eccentric place has to be visited. It is not plush chairs and so on - be warned, it is a great mixture of stuff . If you are over 5' 6" tall you may have problems on the mezzanine - but please ignore that possibility because a visit here is simply a delight. It was so much fun, with a lively happy atmosphere. The food/wine is served by someone who obviously loves her work and who spends time and care on advising and explain the menu, making a visit special.
The menu is a variety of small dishes (two mains are enough) all packed with flavour and well presented. The wine list is the best one we found in Bandol and thank goodness at reasonable prices. We spent two very happy hours here (yes on the mezzanine, I am 6' 2") capped by a simply amazing dessert for which you must leave room. The two people who run this bistro deserve thanks and a lot of praise (how the chef manages on her own who knows!). We thought it represented a hugely welcome departure from the stale approach you find elsewhere. The only problem was that it wasn't open on Tuesday and Wednesday - because if it had been we would have been back there like a shot. Just go there!

“Enchanting!”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

De la Terre au Vin is like no other place in Bandol! The young lady who greeted us, then sat with us to take our order (she almost had to as the ceiling is a bit low and she is very tall!), then served us, really set the scene for a relaxing evening. She speaks English and French (and perhaps others) and made a difference in our enjoyment. I ordered Tatin de Tomates et Cabecou (goat cheese) which turned out to be one of the MOST delicious dishes I've ever had! The Parmentier de Canard Confit was very good too. My husband's Cream of Broccoli Soup was lovely, the lamb kebabs were good, but not as exciting as the other dishes. We had a bottle of light rosé that accompanied everything brilliantly, AND the young lady let us taste a couple rosés before making a choice. Others had that options also. We loved it and can't wait to go back! Very good value, especially if your appetite is not huge because although the portions are smallish, 2 or 3 dishes max will be just right. Next time I am saving room for dessert!

What else to say than,
it isn’t only a wonderful place of leisure but also,
to share such peaceful and warm moments with
any of your friends…
The quality of ‘lets say’, everything, is what you
could hope and what you can’t find anywhere else
than into this special restaurant; welcomed by such
beautiful Women with whom you can talk as easy
as you can take time to think…

Thanks to them

“Great Tapas”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

Something a little different from the rest of the restaurants in Bandol, The selection of little dishes are well thought out and cooked perfectly, also the wine list is well chosen and a good selection.
