The food was very nice, and the staff charming. The menus in central Cassis seem to be much of a muchness, but this restaurant has the advantages of friendly and attentive staff.

If you want a good value simply prepared lunch then look no further than the 18 euro menu. Attentive service and a complimentary digestif make this a bargain on this expensive coastline. There seemed to be a few regulars being warmly greeted by the owner which is usually a good sign.

The owner was lovely and very attentive which created a truly welcoming atmosphere. The food was also good, although portions could've been slightly larger.

Don't be tempted by the tasteless, touristic restaurants along the harbor. Your patience to seek out this little restaurant will be rewarded. Based on positive reviews on Trip Advisor and Fodors, my husband and I and our two adult sons went in search of Restaurant Le Bonaparte for lunch on a Saturday at the end of May. We walked by it at 11:30 and weren't sure if it was open because the place was empty. We decided to come back in about 30 min and when we returned it was so packed we were lucky to find a table for 4.
My husband and I had the 18 Eu plate lunch and our sons had the 26 Eu plate lunch. We each tasted everything and thought the quality of flavors and quality was the same for both except that the ingredients of our son's courses was a little more expensive (i.e. scallops). The flan/creme caramel was the best I've ever had (except for my mom's).
We were charmed by the owner - who does not speak any English (or the waiters).
Highly recommend this restaurant.

We consulted Trip Advisor before our trip to Cassis and settled for this restaurant for lunch. We had the choice of 13.50 euro plat du Jour or for 18 euro's an extra course and more choice. The 18 Euro menu was excellent, the restaurant was completely full despite it only being 20 degrees and in the shade. Jean Marie looked after us very well, and the complementary cognac was a bonus. Really great place to eat, the Moules were fantastic. Highly recommended ...a little piece of authentic France away from the tourist restaurants on the harbour front.
