We went there on a Saturday night and we had a nice table with view on cassis. We ordered the 50€ "a la carte" menu (good concept: you have choice of a 31€ or pick a la carte dishes in a 50€ menu) with some wine for a total bill of 125€ for 2. A bit pricey but actually not this much considering location and how good it was. As starter, asparagus with quails' eggs was fantastic. Duck magret really good with its sauce (meat juice, honey etc) and caramelised season fruits and veg. Tuna was quite original combination but I loved it, even if a bit too small I thought. The raspberry millefeuille with pistachio cream was deeeeelicious!!!
Young lady was very nice and the guy too.
Little possible improvements would be (i) took 2 glasses of red wine and both were a bit two cold for me, and (ii) would have appreciated to remind the dishes composition when served e.g what were the cheeses

Overall, lots of nice restaurants in cassis port, Romano being the up market range, but it definitely delivers and can't wait to come back next year

Location, location, location - excellent view of the harbour, castle and Cap Canaille! Service attentive, when the waiter was a little short in english, the owner came and gave a knowledgable introduction of the wines! Food was generally excellent, both in presentation and taste. A bit more expensive than the other restaurants harbourside, but well worth it!!

We reserved a table on the terrace specifying we were 2 adults, a child and a dog. When we arrived, the waiter welcomed us in a pretty cold manner and the first question we were asked is to remove the dog from his walking line. We ordered expensive aperitifs (Kir Royal 13.-), expecting that this first unwelcoming gesture might just have been a little glitch. The sparkly water we ordered was in fact tap water that was carbonized using a machine in the restaurant. They charge EUR 5,50.- for water that comes in a fancy looking but unsealed bottle. Since my wife had to drive later (and I simply wasn't in the mood for wine), we asked for choices for just a glass. The offered response wasn't particularly helpful and made us feel like ordering a bottle is needed to earn the respect of the waiter.
As an entry we ordered 2 fish soups and squid linguine.
We got 2 empty bowls and we started rejoicing since now we expected a nice pot coming to the table with the soup. However, to our astonishment, the waiter arrived with a glass water carafe filled with soup that he then poured into our bowls. Why would he do that? Decanting soup makes sense if you want to separate the broth from the seafood, however this soup was already in its final state. The soup was filled with grit from the sea food that made for an unpleasant texture especially with the overly buttery (and therefore slightly tasteless) rouille served alongside of it. Also, in all honesty, this could have been from a can. The squid linguine were accompanied by ONE crevette, ONE clam, a couple of mussles and a tomato and parmesan shavings. The linguine were cold and utterly boring, while the ONE crevette was hot and good, and we were wondering what the role of the parmesan on the plate was, other than filling an empty spot on the plate in badly designed entry.
We had to ask the waiter 3 times for a bowl of water for the dog.
We decided to not give this establishment more of our money and cancelled all our open orders and left. The manager tried to explain to us how fine dining works and that our expectations were off. Well we told him that we don't want tap water and can-soup poured from a carafe and the attitudes displayed. All we wanted was delightful food cooked with passion. He then agreed to remove the tap water from the bill (we hadn't even opened the bottle). We payed roughly EUR 90.- for just the entries and the aperitifs and went on to the neighbouring "Frites & moules" place that served us warmly and fed us a well prepared dinner for a total price of roughly EUR 60.- for 3 people including smiles and chats with the waiter.
Don't go to Romano unless you like posh appearances, well aligned silverware and want to pay for a promise of being upscale without eating well.
If this was a canteen, I would rate it as good, but the price would have to shift accordingly.

I often visit a French friend in Marseille. He loves Cassis, but has come to expect we must sacrifice good food for "ambience". Everything is for "English people who will eat anything" as he so tactfully puts it. This place satisfied even him. (I am English and too easily satisfied according to him.) The food was wonderful and the service was exceptional. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

The food here was delicious. I went based on other reviews and was definitely not disappointed. Two courses for 23 euros, very good value. Or you can have 3 for 29. There's no salad and chips, it's French food at it's best. The best meal I had in cassis. Thanks for an enjoyable meal.
