This hotel was definitely well priced for Cassis. But don't expect too much. It was clean and the staff tried to help us, although their English and my French were both limited. The room was very small and the wifi connectivity didn't work in the room (only in the lobby area). Bed was comfortable. Again, for an inexpensive room it was fine. The location is perfect, just a short walk (5 minutes) to the harbor! All things considered, I'd recommend it if you are on a budget.

We stayed at Hotel de France Maguy for 3 nights but I wish it could have been longer. This hotel felt much better than a 2 star property. It's in a good location just a few minutes walk away from the town, it's very clean and the rooms are stylish, having recently been renovated. The owners are super friendly and ensured our stay was fantastic. We started each day with a delicious continental breakfast and had great advice about the best restaurants to sample in the town.

I highly recommend this hotel for couples, families and friends!

Lovely family run this hotel so it kind of feels like a B&B in a way which is nice. Excellent location only 3 min walk from town and private car parking right outside the entrance on secure hotel property. For the price you pay this is definitely good value.

I can't begin to say how great the family that owns Hotel Maguy treated our group of six American women. They were kind, helpful and answered many, many questions. They made reservations for us and recommended various places to go and restaurants for dinner. They let us eat two picnic lunches in their breakfast room and provided us with ice, glasses and plates even though they were very busy at the time. The rooms were fine, two were smaller and one was very large and all were clean and comfortable. The hotel is a short walk down to the port but it is up the hill just far enough to be away from noise and bustle. The casino is very close for those who are interested but there was no noise from it that we could hear. This family works so hard to be sure you are having a good stay I would highly recommend it! They took us to the train station in their van and offered to pick us up upon arrival, which we did not need. Cassis is wonderful and so is the Hotel de France Maguy.

Five minutes from the beach and the port but sufficiently off the beaten track to ensure a sense of calm and quiet. Rooms tend to be small and the furnishings rudimentary. Breakfasts ample but uninspired. However, the price is right, the housekeeping meticulous and the owners truly charming and helpful. Since you don't really want to spend the day in your room with the splendors of Cassis calling to you, the hotel offers a practical convenient and welcoming accommodation. Hard to go wrong with this one.

Room Tip: bungalow a bit bigger for two larger travels (not overweight!)

I would like to praise the owners and their daughter, Alexa. We had a wonderful stay at their hotel. All three went out of their way to make us comfortable. Their advice about the beautiful town of Cassis was extremely helpful. Alexa speaks good English, and she did everything possible to make our stay a pleasant one. The family let us use the breakfast area for two afternoon "picnics" with the food we brought with us from the Arles market. They also offer a shuttle to and from the train station which we were very thankful for!
