“What a gem! Look no further...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

What a wonderful stay! Madame Maud eagerly greeted us from the moment we pulled into the driveway. She gave us some Rose local/organic wine and told us all about the area with a map and everything. The bed and breakfast is way more beautiful than the pictures do it justice on their website. We immediately took pictures of the courtyard, pool, vineyards, and even the kitchen. Such a gem! Our room was a great size and beautifully decorated with whites and grays. There is even a kitchen for the guests to use complete with a fridge and freezer, dishes, silverware, wine openers, microwave, etc. The breakfasts were delicious with Maud's organic homemade jams and fruit compotes. Lots of bread, homemade granola, eggs on demand or cheese, yogurt, croissants, orange/grapefruit juice. Maud even did our laundry, which was at least 2 loads, for only 12 euros and folded it and everything...so sweet! We thoroughly enjoyed the walk to and from Cassis every night as it was peaceful after dinner and nice to walk off all the yummy food we have been eating. We were also given great hiking suggestions of Les Calanques and where the best beaches were to savor the mediterranean. Maud even surprised us at the end of our visit with a little present on our bed with one of their lavender homemade soaps. This is the only place we will stay from now on when returning to Cassis.

A beautiful location very close to the village of Cassis, lovely newly repainted and redecorated rooms, a great welcome and fantastic breakfast. We all had a great time and would certainly come back next time we're in the region. Highly recommended!

A beautiful setting offering a good standard of accommodation. The house is a short drive out of town but is set on a hill overlooking local vineyards. There is a great BBQ area and a swimming pool which would be outstanding in the warmer months.
Our hosts Maud, Gabriel and Lawrence were friendly and accommodating and provided one of the best breakfasts we had on our trip. It is not possible to leave the table and still be hungry.
This is an ideal base to explore this part of France.

certainly difficult to beat, everything is as we'd like it to be, and Maud's enthusiasm is toping it all. Though it ain't easy to chose what we've preferred, I'd mention the breakfast, undoubtedly the best we have ever enjoyed in this kind of very good quality B&B.

Room Tip: from what we've seen, all rooms fit the bill.

We stayed at this lovely B&B a few days ago. Madame Maud and her family , including the family pets, received us with a warm welcome which extended throughout our visit. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the shower was fabulous, the breakfast was abundant and delicious highlighted by Maud's homemade jams. A short walk to the port. Convivial and relaxed atmosphere around the table at breakfast. The setting is bucolic looking over the vineyards with the soft colors of Provence. We highly recommend you stay at this delightful B&B. Altogether a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Although there are larger rooms, we choose the smaller , which was perfect. We believe that you can...

We stayed at La Bastidaine for 6 nights in late June. The B&B is situated about 1.5 km outside the main town of Cassis, however, this is within walking distance and there are also buses. It is also less than 1 km away from the local train station and we spent the whole time without a car and used the local trains. Gabriel kindly drove us to the station with our cases on departure.
The B&B is well maintained and spotlessly clean, there is a shared kitchen area for residents and each room has it's own table and chairs and also sun loungers on the patio outside.
Breakfast is taken together and Maud makes everything herself, jams, fruit compote and combined with the lovely setting on the terrace it is a delight.
Maud and Gabriel are extremely welcoming and I would highly recommend the beautiful home.

We stayed at this B&B for 5 nights at the end of June.
Maud and Gabriel are excellent hosts. They gave us good, honest information on local sights and restaurants. Maud provided a beautiful breakfast in the morning taken outside on the terrace - she also provided some French tuition!
The well maintained, clean rooms are typically Provencal. The swimming pool is well located on a terrace with fine views - good to relax at the end of the day.
The B&B is located a short distance away from the centre of Cassis. It took 20 mins to walk down and 30 mins to walk back - this isn't a problem an odd time during the day but at night after dinner we appreciated our car.The taxis in Cassis seem to disappear in the evening! However, that aside,I enjoyed being in this more peaceful location and preferred not to be in the centre of town.
I recommend this place to stay but consider hiring a car.
