Loved this hotel, no need for a car, restaurants on your doorstep and a balcony overlooking the sea and harbour, just sitting there watching the world go by was wonderful. Beautiful view of the castle and being lit at night was magical. Booked a car parking space in a secure lock up so no hassle. Staff were helpful and the room was spotless. No complaints at all. Would definitely go again.

Room Tip: Because it is situated on the port you might think it was noisy but with the double glazed doors clo...

Hotel Le Liautaud is perfectly positioned in Cassis, restaurants, bars and beach are all within 100 metres and the views from the balconies are marvellous .
The hotel is very well kept, the staff are very helpful, and when our flight home on the following day was cancelled the concierge rearranged things for the following day immediately. Thank you !

Room Tip: Any overlooking the port

We staid at Hotel Liautaud for four nights in early May. The location of this hotel could not be better -- you walk out the front door right into the Cassis Harbor. We had a beautiful view of the harbor and beach from our balcony (which barely fit two plastic chairs). Restaurants and shopping less than 100 meters away. There is also an easily accessible bus stop to the Gare SNCF about five minutes away by foot (and a 20 minute bus ride).

The front desk was very pleasant and willing to assist us in finding buses. However, wifi is only accessible on the ground and first floors; if you stay in any room on the second and third floor, you must walk downstairs to use the internet. The 8 Euro breakfast is served on the first floor and has a terrific view of the harbor. The breakfast it composed of croissants, bread, juice, and coffee/chocolate/tea -- I would advise buying the breakfast for the convenience, because the local patiseries are considerably cheaper and just one to two minutes away!

Everything was booked the week we were in Cassis, but for the price of 80 Euro, I was expecting a better room. The room looked dated, the bed was uncomfortable, and despite closing the balcony door and shades, we heard revelers outside until 3 a.m. each night. Therefore, if you're okay with sacrificing comfort for location, I'd recommend this hotel; otherwise, I'd say look at the numerous other locations in Cassis.

We stayed on the 4th floor and although our room was quite small and basic it had a balcony with an amazing view of the harbour. Cassis is so pretty and we thoroughly enjoyed the bird's eye view from our room. There were plenty of restaurants and shops in the immediate area so the location couldn't be better.

We had heard this hotel was basic but were pleasantly surprised. It's certainly a no-frills hotel but the room was fine, with a small balcony overlooking the port and in early October we had sun from mid-morning on. Bathroom was a good enough size with a really good shower over the bath. Breakfast was served in a first floor room with lovely views. Would have preferred more choice. All that was on offer was tea/coffee, orange juice, croissants and bread. Cassis is small with few hotels so this is a good choice if you want to be in the centre of the port. There plenty of restaurants but we found the ones at the port quite pricey, with wine being particularly expensive. We chose to eat in the pedestrian streets just round from the hotel and were spoiled for choice. I'd particularly recommend Le Bistrot de Cassis in Rue Bremond - food and service was excellent. Beware of being drawn to the Chateau if you are sight-seeing. We walked up a very steep hill only to discover it is now a private hotel.

Room Tip: A room over-looking the port is a must

We spent 7 nights here and we found the location ideal! You are in the heart of it! We had a room on the first floor overlooking the park and port - loved the outlook but can get noisy at night if you leave doors ajar. I am quite a light sleeper and heard the police one night locking up a guy who was brawling in the street outside, heard the trucks in the morning, etc. BUT, that made the holiday! as we were in the thick of it. The rooms are basic, but clean, as is the bathroom - clean towels are provided for the room (not the beach) but you should bring soap and toiletries - this is a 2 star hotel. We normally stay in 4-5 star hotels but loved staying here and being able to walk 20 metres to breakfast or 100 metres to the beach. The staff are friendly and most speak some English. I couldn't get my WiFi to work at all - not even next to reception. There is an internet cafe about 150m up the street if you need a computer or somewhere to print something. They have a very long narrow pillow on the bed, but quite firm. I have neck problems but found the pillow was OK. If you are fussy about your pillow, take it with you. We didn't have a car and so didn't venture far, but found from Hotel Le Liautaud we could access all we needed easily, including a visit to the Calanques, which you have to visit!

The staff was very friendly and most of them spoke English. The little bit of French I know came in handy . Room was clean. When you walk out of the hotel you are right in the "action" of the city. I was alone and felt quite safe to walk around and shop, or stop for a coffee to "people watch".
There IS wi fi as advertised, but they fail to mention that it doesn't work in the rooms! You have to go to the lounge upstairs . I was afraid to do that cause there was no one else around....it just felt creepy.
Otherwise... a great place to stay!
