“Nice hotel and location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2011

We stayed here in June 2009. Hotel was very nice. We had a room with a balcony that had sea views. Very close and easy to walk to everything from here. We did not have the breakfast included so ate our own breakfast on the balcony every morning. There was a little fridge to keep things cold. The only let down was there was no pool but the sea was literally just in front of the hotel so it didn't matter that much! Good restaurants in the area as well.

Great place to stay with beach 3 minutes walk away - great view for breakfast in the mornings. Recommend booking parking. Am sure penthouse suite is fabulous & first room wonderful. Negotiated to stay extra night ( July 14th) but last available room was disappointingly a bit more basic. However the signs are of investment in room decor, so this may change in the future.Staff helpful in highlighting good value eateries & other entertainment. Also helped us book friends into another hotel when they decided to drop by. Staff took interest in guests & made them feel welcome, almost part of the family, whilst still maintaining a professional hotelier approach. Plan to go back!

This hotel is in a great location. Very clean, great service. Our room was spacious. The breakfast was plentiful and reasonable. You can view the sea from the restaurant. Le Lavandou is a perfect place to stay as a base for exploring the Riviera. We only stayed one night then went on to Nice. That was a good base but Le Lavandou was much more reasonable and quaint. In Nice you pay a premium for parking overnight..

We have returned from le lavandou after staying in the hotel Espandon. It is a very well located hotel opposite the beach in and in the heart of the town next to shops cafe/bar and delicatessant.
A big thank you to Phillipe, Brigitte and Penelope who all did their very best to help with any queries we had. All I can say is that it was just as photo, we stayed on 1st floor with terrace room 7 with an excellent view of the sea. Breakfast was very good value wth yoghurt fresh croissant rolls cheese and fruit juice. The hotel was extremely clean and lots of art and homely artifacts inside including the family dog Titon who was very sweet.
This hotel is a real jewel in the crown of the Cote d azur. Highly reccommended. Le lavendou can be reached by train to Toulon and then the Varlib bus to Le lavandou. After that all is walkable and plenty to do.The best restaurant is pizzeria L' eglise
just a short walk away from hotel.

We stayed here one night in the off season on our way to Nice, so the town was not busy. Found conveniently located free on-street parking. Lots of street lights.

The hotel was a little hard to find, although it is located on the main street right across from the port. There is a beautiful garden with huge palm trees that separates the street from the hotels and other businesses, so you have to look between the fronds to find the hotel name.

If you have luggage, the front of the hotel is a little imtimidating with all the step, so take your time. The lobby was very nice. There is a large room with huge windows that overlooks the port, a small bar and a reading area. The woman who checked us in was very helpful and showed us to our room. There is a small lift to the rooms, so that was a big plus.

Our room and the bath were both huge and decorated in the bluse and yellows of Provence and the Cote d'Azure. It is not high style, but very quaint, clean, well situated in the town and the staff was charming. We did take breakfast, as it was fairly reasonable, so we looked out over the garden and port.

If I had it to do over again, I would have stayed here for several nights and not gone on to Nice. I would have driven into Nice and/or Cannes for the day. I stayed in October so it was the off-season and would have worked. Much less expensive and just a nice clean hotel with friendly staff. This strategy probably wouldn't work in high season.

3 nights with my wife daughter and her 5 month old baby. Great sea view room from 7, good bathroom and balcony, othe room had side view but was cheaper. allocated parking and lift are pluses. Very attentive staff. Did not try breakfast but it looked more than adequate. Cross the road and you are on the beach. 2 minutes to port with restaurants and bars. Road sweeper did a very thorough job in the early hours however a small inconvenience. Will return. Double, sea view, full sun £92-00 per night.

We visited the hotel in August 2010 for 6 nights. We arrived by car from Chamonix. The hotel is right in the centre of Le Lavandou - a lovely small town on the Cote d`Azur. The hotel is run by Philippe Andreo and his wife. Both of them are very very friendly and helpful. I needed some info prior to our arrival and Philippe responded to my emails promptly. The hotel is very well decorated and has a lovely atmosphere. Rooms are clean and serviced daily. I would recommend to pay for continental breakfast : served from 7:30,fresh, well presented, served in a pleasant lobby with some discrete background music, well priced too. We were all very happy in the hotel and I would strongly recommend the place - you will not regret. See below for some practical advice:
BEACH: There are several beuatiful beaches in and around Le Lavandue. One of them is virtually infornt of the hotel. It is a public beach but well maintained and clean despite the presence of a little port nearby. If you prefer a more secluded beach you can drive a few miles (or use a little tourist train) and visit one of the other beaches nearby - ask Philippe for advice.
PARKING may be a little difficult in peak season. On arrival stop close to the hotel, go to the reception and ask Philippe to open the barrier. You can then park right infront of the hotel to offload your luggage. You can then drive your car to the nearby free parking (Parking du Marche or Parking Frederick Mistral). Both are free to park for 6-7 days but you will only find a place in the early morning or late evening. Again ask Philippe for advice.
INTERNET is free, speedy wifi, ask reception for username and password.
FOOD is all around, plenty of good restaurants, take breakfast from hotel if you like continental
Enjoy your stay Simon
