The restaurant, closeto the main square of st marie,is very nice, with a lot of colors on the table, the food is very good, well prepared and showed on the dishes, but the madam serving, speak only french.if you require explanations, she repeats the sa me list, wout any help.we were lucky and we chase well, but the girls were a little disappointed. The bouf carpaccio ands la gardienne de taurea were delicious.
The dessert were very limited but the fraze juice was good.

We stayed in a studio appartment in the St Maries for ten nice days in May. The "Lou Gabian" was just around the corner and we had lunch and dinner there quite a few times. We liked it so much that the kitchen we had planned to use a lot to keep costs down wasn't used very often.

First thing; The landlord's name isn't Lou - it is Christian. The name "Lou Gabian" actually means "The Seagull", but in Camargue language. "Lou" is Camargue for "le". We had many nice meals there and one of the best was the fish casseoulet with Camarge red and white rice.

Christian was very helpful. He and his partner, sorry don't have her name, arranged a meeting with a local guy named Alain Jalabert, that helped us immensely in our search for 50+ years old events and people that knew about them.

Very very nice restaurant in centre of town, inside made as a boat.
We ordered bull meat, la gardienne de taureau.....my god, take this and nothing more, is delicious and big.
The cheese dessert was good, the other dessert not so much.
We spent around 27 euro each, but we were very very full and satisfied.
Definitely go.

We actually walked into this restaurant at 10am to watch Rugby World Cup final France V New Zealand. It wasnt open, but their was a group of local men who had organised to do the same. As aussies we were supporting the Kiwis. The locals made us welcome, shared their excellent Oysters and food. By the time France lost, we had made new friends, got drunk, and observed a religious parade that passed the front door during the game. We stayed on for lunch in the restaurant, and at the end after a great meal. The owner refused payment, as we were his new friends. The food was well woth paying for
