“Would Love to Go Back!”
Reviewed 11 July 2011

We very much enjoyed our two-night stay at this warm and hospitable B&B. A tastefully converted farm house, the B&B is owned and operated by a young family who live in the same structure. Great attention to detail, comfortable, and it could not be more convenient for a short walk into the center of Vaison la Romaine. Their breakfast room has a library of information resources for travelers, and the owners offer tips for local dining. Homemade preserves help accent a very nice breakfast. Very reasonably priced, and with lots of room for parking. We would love to go back and stay longer!

We loved this chambre d'hôte and our stay in Vaison-la-Romaine. Les Tilleuls d'Elisée is well located for exploring both the Roman ruins and the medieval village up on the hill by foot. The on-site parking is secure and the access in and out was convenient for a drive up the Mont Ventoux and wine tasting in the region. As others said, Laurent and Anne's recommendations for restaurants are helpful and diverse. We also appreciated the availability of a refrig and kitchen set-up in the breakfast room for keeping picnic supplies ready for the next day or for a light meal à emporter.

Great location for visiting Vaison as well as the other towns in the area. Nice and quiet area, but easy walk to the center of Vaison. Don't forget to ask Laurent for restaurant recommendations. He's knows the current good ones at reasonable prices.

This place is truly a great find. A restored farmhouse that now has some of the most comfortable rooms we stayed in during our trip through France, as well lovely grounds overlooking the city and the ever-looming Mt. Ventoux. The hosts were helpful and very kind. The yard served as a lovely setting for breakfast, as well as afternoon wine and snacks. The location is walkable to the town (5-10 min) yet removed enough to make you feel as if you have left the other tourists behind. Quiet, comfortable rooms make it easy to sleep and refresh in time for more exploration of this are the next day.

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast located in walking distance of the center of town. The rooms are spacious with modern bathrooms. The room includes a continental breakfast of croissants, local breads and fruit. Most of all the owners, Anne and Laurent Viau, are gracious hosts and full of suggestions of what to see in Provence.

Of all the charming bed-and-breakfast hotels my husband and I stayed at in our two weeks in the French countryside, the most comfortable and home-like was "Les Tilleuls d'Elisee." In addition to its pleasant countryside location, the hosts provide a fine breakfast with home-made jams, excellent travel advice, a refrigerator to store all the good things that guests buy at the farmers' market in town, and a lovely garden out back with tables and chairs for picknicking.

First, the stay was a great experience because the hosts (both of whom are native to the area) are lovely, low-key people, very helpful when you need help, but also very relaxed about having people staying and milling about their house.

The house is located a bit outside (but walking distance to) the newer/flat part of Vaison, which means there is plenty of easy parking (a definite advantage and relief if you plan to drive around during your stay). The slightly out-of-town location also means it is absolutely, perfectly quiet at night, even with the windows open.

Our suite had two rooms with a shared bath and toilet, which was perfect for traveling siblings, and a fantastic deal. Breakfast was wonderful and again it was a genuine pleasure to see the hosts at breakfast.

We would definitely try to return on future trips!
