We stayed at this chambres d'hotes for two nights in September 2011. We were made very welcome by the friendly owners and shown to our well-appointed en-suite room. It was very prettily decorated and there were lovely fluffy towels and beautifully scented shower gel provided. The room was quiet and we were unaware of other guests in neighbouring rooms.
We particularly liked the fact that we could use the breakfast room and its facilities at all times of day. This meant that, after shopping in the excellent local market, we could use the cutlery, crockery, sink, kettle etc to prepare our evening meal and eat it in the garden. There were several tables and chairs to sit at under a shady tree, with views of the cathedral. An excellent place to stay, close to the vineyards of the Cote de Rhone where you can spend a few happy hours wine tasting.

Vaison is wonderful and staying in this B&B gives you the best view of the medieval hilltown (which you can walk to in 10 min and not deal with trying to drive in it) + the Roman ruins are right next door...AND you can sit on the terrace with your glass of wine and look at all of that, relaxing at the end of the day. This was a great location, with easy parking, very nice rooms with modern bathroom and a breakfast room with refrigerator that guests can use. You can walk into town for dinner (and it's quiet and peaceful at night) in 5 minutes. The breakfast was nothing special and I would have preferred some yoghurt and other options but it's no big deal. They are very hospitable and do allow you to use their wifi, which was very nice, to pick up your email if you have a computer with you.

We started our month-long stay in France at this B&B for one week and it could not have been a better start. Anne and Laurent are wonderful hosts and made our stay beyond expectation. The rooms were spotless and the fresh linens throughout the week were great (ironed linen sheets). They made us feel very much at home and we enjoyed sharing time with them, their family and their assortment of "pets" (Ringo the dog, the cats and the chickens).

The breakfast each morning was a great way to start the day - bread, croissants, coffee, juice and those wonderful homemade jams.

Their B&B is in a very convenient location to town (a three minute walk) with a great view of the old town and the chateau. And it is a very quiet setting. The Tuesday market in town is amazing - every street has vendors. We highly recommend staying here.

Best Regards,
Steve & Charlotte

Room Tip: We stayed in Les tilleus - view of town, old town, chateau and Mont Ventoux

This is an ideal, affordable, small French hotel just steps from the town and Roman ruins with its own lovely garden and tree-lined lawn. The rooms are basic and simple but clean and modern. Breakfast is simple, fresh and lovely. The hosts are friendly, helpful (in English as well) and familial. A perfect base from which to explore the town, the local area, and frankly most of Provence. Next time, this will be our first, rather than last, destination. Try to stay over Monday for the Tuesday morning market.

We very much enjoyed our two-night stay at this warm and hospitable B&B. A tastefully converted farm house, the B&B is owned and operated by a young family who live in the same structure. Great attention to detail, comfortable, and it could not be more convenient for a short walk into the center of Vaison la Romaine. Their breakfast room has a library of information resources for travelers, and the owners offer tips for local dining. Homemade preserves help accent a very nice breakfast. Very reasonably priced, and with lots of room for parking. We would love to go back and stay longer!

We loved this chambre d'hôte and our stay in Vaison-la-Romaine. Les Tilleuls d'Elisée is well located for exploring both the Roman ruins and the medieval village up on the hill by foot. The on-site parking is secure and the access in and out was convenient for a drive up the Mont Ventoux and wine tasting in the region. As others said, Laurent and Anne's recommendations for restaurants are helpful and diverse. We also appreciated the availability of a refrig and kitchen set-up in the breakfast room for keeping picnic supplies ready for the next day or for a light meal à emporter.
