Small quaint, almost rustic hotel in the small town of B-les-B with a great location, 100m from the gondola which takes you on a 25 minute ride to the centre of Meribel skiing area. The gondola ride is a bit of a drag - 50 minutes + each day, though you can ski to Les Rafforts on the way down which saves part of the trip back, but B-les-B is marketing itself as the cheap, cost-effective place to stay while skiing les trois vallees. There are better hotels in B-les-B than this one, but none are as good value, and it would be hard to beat the food. Its a small hotel, ski room is a large garden shed in the car park but it is clean and the owners very friendly. It has a bar which would only attract residents, and the restaurant serves great food. Breakfast is a bit light - a glass of orange, croissant and bit of bread with tea, coffee or hot chocolate, but dinner makes up for it. Rooms are small and some have a shared bathroom (ugh!) and it would be great to see the whole place re-furbished but not in these times I guess.

I would go back, but only if the other hotels didn't have accommodation.

Good location- very close to the gondola to Meribel, and just a short stroll to the main street of Brides-les-Bains. Pleasant main areas to hotel ut room was very small- booked twin room as travelled with a friend, but twin beds had been pushed together or there would not have been room for them both. Difficult to moe freely around room. Pod style bathroom had been fitted into corner of bedroom, which is what had made it small, but it was adequate. Agree with earlier comment re breakfast- croissants were nice but bread stale and, bizarrely, no plates! No safe in room, but hotel reception have one, although when we went to collect our English money and passports from it, we found that they hadn't actually put them in the safe, just in a large brown envelope with our name on, and placed in an unlocked cupboard in the office!

This hotel is situated in an excellent postion close to the gondola which links to Meribel. Although it takes 25 minutes by gondola and it is not possible to ski all the way back which means a return trip via the gondola. The hotel and its garden look beautiful from the outside. Inside the bar and restaurant are clean and quaint and certainly pleasant and enjoyable spaces. However the rooms leave a lot to be desired. They are quite clean but their decor is quite strange with a mixture of unmatching brown old furntiure and a newish dark blue carpet which certainly doesn't match the furniture. The wallpaper is white and blue and again fits oddly with the rest of the room. The beds are cheap and I would suspect quite old; covered with sheets and blankets as opposed to more modern duvets. In the room I stayed in the toilet leaked and the pipe below the sink leaked and most annoying of all was that the shower in the bath did not have a shower curtain and so the bathroom floor got very wet every time I took a shower. One evening there was water dripping into my room from the room above - no doubt someone had taken a shower. The evening meal in the hotel was very good although it was served by the hotel manager who was effecient enough but served dinner wearing his jeans and untucked shirt. The breakfast was quite frankly the worst I have ever had in the Alps; a cold croissant, stale bread, jam and soft cheese and coffee and most annoyingly no plates, people had to eat off the tablecloth!
The crazy thing about this hotel is that with a little effort and with some changes which are surely obvious to 99% of people this really could be an excellent character hotel.
