We went there with as a group of 5 friends, mainly to have a weekend break, enjoy the spa, and relax. The hotel definitely has a character, with corridors opening into other buildings, vintage decorum, display of antique games, slot machines, art-deco fursnishings, statues... The breakfast buffet and the salon were excellent. We had a long breakfast in total bliss. Even though it was full of people, the noise levels were excellently low. It must be the furnishing. We also ate at the 4 Seasons Restaurant inside the casino and I will provide a review for that separately. The room was also beautiful with fabric walls and ceiling.

The front desk personnel have to be commended for their helpfullness and pleasant attitude.

All good things aside, the spa was a total disappointment. For a hotel with 335 rooms, it was unacceptably small. The hammam could sit 8 people, the jacuzzi was full with 7 women, the sauna could hold about 6 people. If it weren't a Saturday afternoon, it could have been tolerable but that day, it simply was unbearable. Maybe the hotel thinks its clients would go to the city spa which I heard was a 5 minute walk. Then it should simply make arrangements and provide clients with such an option. Because the main purpose of our stay was the spa, it was very disappointing.

Dear Madam,

We thank you for your comment.

We do appreciate your feed back regarding the facilities and the service. Be sure that your review will be transfer to every services concerned.

Regarding the Wellness center, you are right that it is a little bit small for 133 rooms. That's why we are thinking about the best way to increase the siez of this area which is quite difficult with historic buildings.

We will be very pleased to welcome you for another stay maybe on the period less busy.

We stay at your disposal,

Thomas Berbain

I have stayed here a few times when in the area and it is cozy and comfortable rooms. The hotel has a grand old-fashioned air and it has a lovely garden. Not all have AC unfortunately though at least there is a fan. The gym is not great however. It's quite old and run down and in need of a face lift. The restaurant have good food for the most part and if you choose room service it's quite fast.

We booked 6 rooms at this hotel and stayed here with a party of friends. We were all attending the British Classic Car Rally at Morges in Switzerland. The rooms were all excellent, comfy beds and good bathrooms. The hotel is in a lovely art deco style The reception staff were excellent and very helpfull. I am afraid we had bad service and not terribly good food at the Quatre Saison Restaurant - but this is the subject of another review - the hotel and factilies are excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a balcony - we had standard rooms which were very good.

I've stayed here quite frequently recently. Very grand. Aimed at people who like quality, glamour and formality. Not yet had a room with a view of the lake but I live in hope! Usually I get to look at trees. But still, I'm hardly in the room anyway. The only thing that annoys me (and would not be a small thing to change in such a large hotel) is the hairdryers - they are old fashioned wall mounted tubes of hot air....I feel like I could dry my hair faster by running round the room for half an hour! Honestly - the hairdryers lack oomph!

Dear Madam,

First of all we want to thank your for your comment and especially for your confidence.

As we know you used our facilities quite offen. We will be very please to let you discover our rooms facing the alps instead of the garden's trees. Please feel free to ask it to me at your next travel.

Regarding the hair dryer we are agree with you but have some trouble to change them regarding safety law. To be honest we had started some month ago a campaign to change it. We would like to replace it by classic tubeless hair dryer like everybody has at home. Unfortunately the safety commission for hotel is very strict due to the fact that the hair dryer is in the bathroom and we can not use classic one. We are thinking about a new solution but this make us loose some time.

We hope to have fix the solution for your next stay.

Regards,

Thomas Berbain

I love this hotel! The whole place is beautifully decorated in art deco style and feels glamourous, refined and yes, quiet! You could be back in the 1930's, attending a dinner dance after a day at the spa.

The hotel is in the middle of a small spa town which is clearly part of the Geneva commuter belt. It is very pretty and very clean with interesting shops and good restaurants and bars. On Sunday there is a large street Market with food and drink alongside cheap leather goods and the like. Lovely for a mornings browsing.

Divonne is less than half an hours drive from the French side of Geneva airport and it is a regular short break getaway for us. Fly into the main Swiss airport, then follow the signs to the French side which is less than 10 minute walk. Hire your car from the French side, and you will find it much cheaper and more convenient since you don't have to deal with the border when you are on the road.

The casino is fun, and the restaurant in the casino does great value set dinners.

Hotel Domaine de Divonne is a classic old-fashion hotel, with an attached casino. Divonne-les-Baines is a cute little town but it does not appear there is much going on here. I can only assume the hotel and the casino had had its heyday a few decades ago.

I love my room and bathroom which are immense, and the room even opens up to 2 balconies. But I don't think all the rooms are of the same configuration. Breakfast was quite good. The rest of the hotel is lined with large mirrors and sofas with velvety upholstery and wall-to-wall thick carpeting. The route to the casino in the back of the hotel has ancient slot machines on display.

We stayed 1 night at the hotel. As other reviewers wrote .. it is a bit dated and stuck in the 80s. Good and friendly service, our check out time was extended to 15h with no issues.
Strange concierge service we asked for a restaurant recommendation. The first concierge was not really knowledgeable. The 2nd one just booked us a table at a restaurant without asking what we actually want. Nice clean large rooms – and finally lots of mirrors … stayed in the superior suite.
I would have loved to go running and enjoy the grounds – unfortunately it rained. The gym has 4 older Tecno gym machines, TV was broken and I could not spot an opportunity to clean after the training the machines. The sauna & hamman looked nice. Breakfast ok – not over exciting. Good pool.
I remember the hotel from coming here approx.. 15 years ago for conferences – it’s a classic … good price / quality ratio.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review.

First of all, please accept our apologies. We are sorry to hear that we were not able to meet the expectations.

Regarding the concierge service that we propose, we are pleased to inform you that we have fixed our mistakes and have value-added our quality service.

Regarding the fitness center we are thinking about refurbishment for the machine. The technical service has repared the TV. Please note that there are showers in the fitness room (just before the sauna area). Moreover a person is at your disposal to change towels and clean area.

Finally, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our guest experience and refurbishment projects should be starting next year.

We would be happy to welcome you back at the Domaine de Divonne and remain at your entire disposal for any further information.

Regards,

Thomas Berbain
