“Fabulous long weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2014

We have just spent 3 nights at the Chateau de Divonne in France. This small but very personal hotel is the perfect place to get away from it all. We booked rooms over looking Mont Blanc but only saw it for a few hours due to the weather but that did'nt matter as the views were still amazing without Mont Blanc.
Rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable and provided fresh linen twice a day.
The staff were truly professional and were keen to please. The service and food in the restaurant was first class...the reception staff were very informative and extremely accomodating they all spoke very good English. The hotel Manager should be very proud of ALL of the staff.
Travelling to and from Geneva airport was very straight forward by car. On our second day
We drove to Nyon and parked the car then took the train from Nyon to Montreux then a bus to Glion and then the cog railway to Rocher de Nay it was a magical day and the transport system is very good. There are lots of fabulous views of Lake Geneva.
Try to include a Sunday if ever you visit as the food market in Divonne (only on Sunday's) is the best I have ever seen.
This area is very quiet and very clean and a place to unwind.
The only thing I would say the hotel lacks is tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, but Chateau De divonne is truly a little gem tucked away in the French countryside.. but a stones throw away from Switzerland.`

Room Tip: Rooms with views of Mont Blanc more expensive but worth it to wake up to fabulous views in the morni...

I decided to stay at the Chateau de Divonne on the last night of a summer European trip in 2009. I researched places and settled on what I hoped would be a special place before I flew back to the U.S. out of Geneva. The chateau was wonderful and whenever I return to the Geneva area I would absolutely stay there again! The swimming pool was nice and relaxing. The chateau's setting overlooking the mountains and in a wooded area is beautiful. Dinner was pricey but excellent and the full buffet breakfast was exceptional--the best French food one could want! My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Hotel staff were helpful and got me a taxi to the airport that took a credit card since I was low on euros. This place is special and a real treat if you are looking for that!

(Sorry this is a little dated, but I've been very busy)

We chose this accommodation as a place to stay following a late arrival at Geneva Airport. It appeared to offer a better value for money luxury experience than hotels in Geneva city, and given we had a hire car it was an easy drive from the airport to the hotel, about 15-20 minutes from the airport).

What a find! Set in beautiful grounds, with beautiful views over Lake Geneva and the French Alps. We arrived late at night, with the kitchen closed however we were offered a snack menu and chose the cheese and charcuterie plate, with croque monsieurs for our children. The plate arrived heaped with delicious cheeses and meats, and a selection of breads, obviously freshly made. The mini-bar with stocked with crisp cold 1664's (apple juice for the kids) which completed our banquet (normally I don't pair cheese with beer but the combination was a very good one! The room itself was large, with rose chintz wallpaper and bedding, and decorated with antique furniture. We had a beautiful night's sleep, and awoke to open the large French windows and shutters overlooking magnificent grounds.

After a filling european breakfast (buffet) in a grand and sunny breakfast room with its gold gilt-edged mirrors, 16th century artworks and the like looking out over the lake and the Alps, we took a stroll around the gardens, kicking up the leaves from the oak and chestnut trees. We drove off to explore Lausanne, (about 40 minutes away) and returned that night to dine in their Michelin starred restaurant which, again was impeccable. We departed, regretfully, the following day.

I could go on and on about the details, but I won't. Its simply enough to say that this place is a gem, and well worth a two night stay for people travelling through the area. We definitely hope to return next time we travel to the region.

A Christmas getaway for us but you need a car you are in a place where there is not anything to do
unless your play golf or gamble the course was closed for the winter. We spent out time visiting different places by taxi or bus or train. The bus stop in Devonne from hotel is quite a walk and it is uphill going back to Hotel and you need to walk the path across the golf course has there is no footpath on the main road and no lights.
The staff were very good and helpful. The restaurant is a Michelin 2 star and very very expensive
which is what you would expect with that rating. The restaurant was busy each night and I believe
this is what this hotel is about its food not the accommodation which was also good. My thanks to the chef in coping with my allergy ceoliac . Many thanks to the girls on reception in helping me
when poorly. This is a summer place a wonderful veranda over looking the mountains and worth a visit.

Room Tip: We had room 41 overlooked the front a nice room.A place to eat and to stay for maybe 2 night's...

Just out of Hospital, after a serious accident at Hotel Chateau Divonne, where broke my foot and Leg!!!

Irresponsible staff, kept their main entrance Stair case, full iced and not even bother to warn or install safety signs to protect guests about the risk ???

one step out of Main Entrance and slept down 8 stairs over my back!! Leg and foot broken. Serious surgery, 7 metal pins installed!!! Complain to the hotel and they reply telling could not find salt to spread over ice??? Ridiculous, criminal, I will suit them at court.
Run away, this hotel out of any standard!!

Room Tip: Not even consider, do not waste your time and money.... This Hotel totally outdated. Staff cannot ev...

I booked a three night stay here through booking.com thinking it would be a nice break in the middle of a road trip around France. We had a classic double room, which was small and had no air conditioning. The building is lovely, but there aren't really any grounds to walk around. There's the terrace, which does have a great view and the swimming pool area and that's it really. The staff are friendly and helpful and it is very clean. We did not eat here as the menu did not appeal to us, so cannot comment on the food as others have. The swimming pool is clean and lovely to sit by for the afternoon and towels are available in the 'pool house'. The area only seems to be staffed when busy, but there is a phone to order drinks etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but were disappointed with the lack of grounds, the size of the room, the lack of air conditioning and although we appreciate it is an old building the renovations are not the best quality. The town is lovely and only a few minutes walk or drive.

However, the real problem we had with this hotel was being overcharged. Unfortunately we did not realise this until returning home and emailed them immediately, unfortunately they have not responded to the emails we have sent and are now having to go through the hassle of trying to get money back through the credit card company. Check your bill carefully if you stay here (we have been overcharged 144 Euros for breakfasts we did not eat). They seem to have no interest in customer care or service once you have left their hotel. It's a shame because overall it's quite a nice place, but I couldn't recommend it.

Room Tip: We had 27, which was quiet, but very small
