We booked this chalet through Cyrstal Holidays based at the Chillfactor, Manchester. We stayed in the chalet with 16 other people. The chalet was clean and comfortable. We had hot showers and baths with no problems. We used the sauna a couple of times which heats up very quickly. The seating area at the front of the chalet is very small so it could be a problem if everyone was trying to put their boots on at the same time! We had no problems though because there was only a couple of couples in ski school. The ski cupboard is located outside the chalet and is a little bit small. The hosts, Emma and Tom were very friendly. There was a good selection of cold buffet breakfast and you could have a cooked option too. They worked extremely hard during the day preparing a 3 course meal for the evening. Wine both red and white was plentiful throughout the meal. The hosts have Tuesdays off so it was nice for us to visit a restaurant. We ate at Studio 21 and the food was excellent. If you are not big eaters then it's a good idea to skip starters! the chalet is perfectly located to many bars and restaurants. There is a ice rink and outdoor pool in the resort. Be aware men have to wear Speedos not shorts!! French rules. The chalet is perfectly located next to a ski hire shop which we found very helpful. Our flight was early Saturday morning we made sure we got to the shop early as it tends to get busy. The bucket lifts are literally down the road. It gets extremely busy between 8.30 and 9.00 as people book into ski school for 9.00 am. The staff at ESF ski school are great and very patient. The resort is good for all abilities particularly for beginners as there are many green and blue runs. This was our first visit to the resort and we would happily stay here again. Thank you Tom & Emma Ian & Lisa Sallis

Just returned from ski holiday at Alpe d'heuz staying in Chalet Telemark with Crystal. Great ski resort with good slopes for all levels. Chalet was close to the lobster pots for easy access to the main slopes. The chalet was basic but clean and in good repair. However the bedroom to the front of the chalet could be very noisy due to late night revellers and early morning piste bashers. The communal areas were spacious and comfortable. Chalet girls were very helpful and food and wine was generally of a good standard. Avoid the nearby Skiset hire shop, totally disorganised and rather rude.

Room Tip: Avoid bedroom next to the front door.

I had never been to a ski chalet before and maybe this is just how skis chalets are? But the 4 star that it is given does not remotely compare to a 4 star hotel. While the brochure pictures do tell the truth, I suppose that I had expected it to be better in real life. The furniture all has the look and feel of being cheaper than Ikea. The towels and sheets are thin, well-used and threadbare - maybe they're better and cleaner at the start of the season. The hot water system didn't seem to be able to cope with the number of people in the chalet - its not like the chalet had been extended though so i suspect that they saved on the build cost by going for a boiler that wasn't quite big enough if the chalet was at full capacity. Obviously people want a shower after a day of skiing, but 2 days it was broken and we only had cold water unless you were the first two or three people to return, and other days it was luke warm at times. The lounge didn't have enough space on the couches for everybody so it isn't a chalet in which you can easily hangout in the comunal areas. Dinner was very poor - but I suppose that will vary depending whether the staff when you visit can cook or not. It had free wifi although that was a bit intermittent. Location was ok - you get bucket lift to the main area, takes about 10min. I won't be returning.
