Travelled with our friends to Alpe D'Huez for one week in February 2023.

TRANSPORT - great journeys both ways - smooth and easy at every point. Chartered flight and short coach transport from Grenoble - 1.5hours - excellent.

ARRIVAL - everything sorted easily and efficiently. Skis in locker, bags in room, brief welcome meeting - this could maybe have been a bit more upbeat and friendly but it was just ok.

ROOM - We were in block A - very nice room with huge bed but not a very big room. However the views over the mountains were perfect. Lovely bathroom and separate toilet. Cleaned daily by wonderful staff.

FOOD - as this is a kids club resort the main dining room felt a bit like a canteen sometimes. How about having a separate adults only area in the main dining room? However all the GO restaurant staff were so hard working - special mention to the Greek and Turkish waiters and also GO Francesco - always smiling x

The food was excellent and the variety was great too. Sometimes the coffee machine might not be working but all you had to do was ask one of the excellent GOs or restaurant staff (shout out to GO Nan and her superb Thai cooking) to help and they would immediately assist. We were lucky to get a table booking in the Alpage restaurant where the atmosphere felt like a high class London restaurant - thank you GO Sofiane for serving us so wonderfully. The food was good but not excellent but we were happy and the wine was always very nice too.
Not forgetting the array of appetizers that are on offer every day - the baby scallops were delicious.

ESF LESSONS - we had the wonderful Sebastian and Christian taking our 3B and Level 4 lessons every day for 5 days. We learnt so much about the area and were taken to the best slopes at the right time. Do not miss the lessons - they are really great to build your skiing confidence and meet new people. So many lovely people in our groups who you get to know over the 5 days. So well organised - two sessions per day with lunch back at the hotel everyday in between sessions. Awesome Club Med /ESF - loved it. Although my knees don't love me anymore xxxx

ENTERTAINMENT - although not the same vibe as the summer destinations, you can't fault the efforts of CLUB MED to try and entertain both kids and adults alike. There is an eye watering programme of events from DJs to singers, fireworks to champagne, dancing to quiz shows (both in French and English). The lead animation GO Estelle, put on an amazing dance show for the last night. So well choreographed and performed. Well done to all the GOs who took part.

BAR - probably one of the best run Club Med bars I have had the pleasure to drink at. So many hard working GOs deserve a mention including Mandy, Roni, She (?) and all the others whose names I can't now remember.

DRESS CODE - as this is quite an international resort the dress code was not so adhered to - but you could always spot the French who made an effort - especially on Tres Elegant night. I love the dress code and always make an effort to follow it - plus it helps when packing. Check your app before departure to see what the dress code is.

OTHER FACILITIES - beautiful pool and steam room area. Great choice of classes if you don't fancy skiing taken by some talented GOS - Estelle (Zumba/Body Balance) and also yoga taken by GO Sarah - very relaxing. But also RPM and many other classes can be attended. Once again - check the boards to find out about the daily programme. There is so much you can do.

Merci also to the Chef de Village - Olivier Nang (?) who was a lovely man with a cheery smile everyday. Thanks for running an efficient resort.

Spent a week with family and friends at this club. Very nice environment, staff attitude, great evenings, delicious food, nice rooms and wonderful skiing.
This time we were with granddaughters who are 4 and 7 years old. The attitude in the mini club and the professionalism of the ski instructors are beyond praise!
In conclusion, I want to write that the escape was a success!

This is a family friendly hotel. Many kids attend the ski school by ESF as the parents go on with their own ski schedule. There is a bit of a rush during meals as many people prepare for their ski plans. The good option for someone like me who doesn’t ski is the wellness room. I got to spend my free time with their yoga teacher Sarah who is super kind and has a great energy. Her classes focus on breath work along with asanas that stretch all sore bodies followed with relaxing meditations- the classes were for all ages regardless of their yoga experiences. I am very thankful for her welcoming attitude and experience.

I have been visiting winter Club Meds since 1988. This place has been the worst I have ever been. If you have an allergic kid or have any dietary restrictions do not even think about staying here. They made my vacation a nightmare. Although they have been informed by me in November they did not do anything about it. I have received an email from F&B Manager saying that it will all be prepared by my arrival. They even tried to serve my daughter a pasta which was not suitable for her. Thank God I have asked to see the package before they ll serve it to my daughter. I am counting the days rite now in this hotel to go back home so that my daughter can eat something. What a shame for a brand like Club Med making a 35 years customer write this comment. Shame on you Club Med, shame on you Mr Oliver and so called F&B Manager Lenny.
