“Great value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2012

My husband and I have just returned from a great week snowboarding in Les Deux Alpes and had a great time. The hotel is no frills, but great value for money. Rooms are clean and quite spacious with a comfortable bed, although the bathroom is very small. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, served until 9.30am and then dinner is also good, although not served until 7.30pm, which some evenings we felt this was quite late. Beware the free shuttle bus stops service at 7pm each evening, so you have to walk a good 20 minutes to get to the main street with all the bars etc as this hotel is situated in the 1800 village region, so getting back at night is up hill! Otherwise the bus service is very good during the day. Would return.

One of very few resort hotels to offer flexible dates rather than week-end in week-end out.
Family run, family atmosphere. Run by Italian ski instructors. Recently changed status from "Residence" to "Hotel", so hasn't yet been classified and is therefore hard to find on the web - but well worth the search! Location - at 2 Alpes 1800, so away from the main drag and club scene, but at the foot of the slopes, so one can ski straight back to the hotel.
Very functional and comfortable accommodation, great rates - very clean, good facilities, including a well equipped gym.
Half-board provides an excellent breakfast buffet and a wonderful 4 course "vera cucina casalinga" dinner. But the best part is the atmosphere and the helpfulness of the owners.
Jam Session attracts a loyal clientele of family groups, but can even make a solo snowboarding "gap" student feel at home; the owners will also go the extra mile and were willing to provide transportation at unreasonable hours when local public /taxis would not oblige.
A real find when so much Alpine hospitality has become industrialised - this was true, warm, personalised hospitality - the perfect place to relax after a long day's skiing.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this Italian run hotel for 5 nights in February, as it was the only place that would accept us at such short notice with midweek arrival and departure dates. We booked direct with the hotel after noticing that the prices were much cheaper than offered on Lastminute.com. I liased with Michele, the hotel owner by email for about a week and he was very helpful, advising us on how to reach them etc, and even booked our lift passes at a discounted rate which we picked up on arrival. Our room was basic, and fairly dated, but warm and comfortable, with a TV and phone, and plenty of extra blankets (not that we needed them). We were also allowed to keep our skis in our room (even though the hotel does provide a ski locker on the ground floor) which was very helpful for us. The room was cleaned daily and the shower room, despite being very small, was clean hot and quite powerful shower. There is also the free use of a gym and pool (although we didn't use it at all during our stay).

We opted for bed and breakfast, so can't comment on the dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast was again, basic but plentiful - tea coffee hot chocolate and juice with fruit, yoghurt, cereal, a selection of bread meat and cheese, and croissants (which were infact, very tasty). The waitresses (also Italian) were very cheerful and friendly, and didn't mind when we occasionally took a couple of extra bits of fruit to take up the slopes.

The location of the hotel was fab, about a 2 minute walk to the telesiege du village, and skiable to via the winding green run that comes down from the top of the mountain. We were a bit worried that the Village would be rather far from the main centre of the resort, but we managed to walk into town every night without any hassle - it took about 7-8 minutes. I actually preferred being a little bit away from the rest of it all, and would definitely stay in the village again.

Overall, I think that this hotel was perfect for our requirements - we spent so much time on the slopes, and then out for dinner in the evenings, that we didn't really spend much time in our hotel, but Jam session provided everything we needed, and the staff were absolutely lovely - helpful, friendly and put themselves out for their guests. I would definitely visit again.
