My husband and I stayed at hotel Alpina a week in Jan/Feb 2012. We really liked the hotel - it's beautiful ('alpine' style), comfortable, and close to the village and the Chevanne lifts (approx. 5 mins walk).

Our room (number 17) was a bit on the small side, but we didn't mind that much as we spent most of the time on the slopes. There are two large lounge areas in the hotel where you can chill and have drinks - one of the lounges has a bar. There's free wi-fi (ask reception for password).

There's also a pool (a bit too cold!), jacuzzi (nice and warm), sauna (not hot enough in our opinion) and steam room (lovely and hot).

The best with this hotel is the food. If you like food, then you will love it here! Breakfast is a carb fest with white bread, pain au chocolate, croissonts, pancakes, waffles, and tons of different cakes. There's also muesli, yoghurt, eggs and tinned fruits. The only thing I missed was some sliced vegetables, like tomatoes or peppers, which would have been nice to put on the bread, and some fresh fruits. Dinner is oh la la!!! Very good wine list. Starters were mainly fish or other seafood. Mains meat or chicken. After this, cheese time. After that, when we thought we were going to explode, it's time for dessert. A big table full of the loveliest desserts ever. For example: macaroons, cream cakes, meringue cakes, various tarts, panna cotta, creme brule, snickers cake (really good actually) and other desserts. We definitely put on weight on this holiday...

IWe stayed at the Alpina in January 2012. The Hotel staff are very nice and demonstrate a real willigness to satisfy the guests needs. The room was ok. We travelled with 2 teenagers, that had a bit of a hard time fitting into the bunk beds. The most positive items, as far as we are concerned are the staff and the food. Some of the rooms need improvement: we had an old matress.
Location is ok, close enough to the slopes but a 5 minute walk from the noisy main street.
we will come back next year!

This is the third time we have visited this hotel in the summer and we are always very happy and satisfied. The rooms are a little small but are comfortable with firm beds, and the wifi is reasonably cheap and efficient. The shower room is well equipped and quite modern, and there is plenty of storage space. The buffet breakfast is varied and we appreciated our evening meals after long walks in the alps. The hotel is run by a small family and the owner is helpful; exceptional value for money. This year Les Gets has an excellent 1€ per day Multi Pass system for the chair lifts and other attractions in the surrounding villages (see http://www.portesdusoleil.com/index.html).

Our family of two adults and two children (5 and 10 yrs) all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay. The room (No. 19) was impeccably clean and looked recently refurbished with attractive alpine soft furnishings and new bathroom fittings. The balcony overlooked the Mt. Chery slope.
The pool area was a hit with the children and filled the time between coming off the slopes and eating dinner. There is a sauna and Hamman with the pool.
The public area included a lovely, large but cozy bar and a separate living room with gas fire and many comfortable sofas and chairs. Again, these public areas were most attractive and appeared recently refurbished in traditional Savoyard style, including natural wood carved features and local artwork.
The half-board dinner was a set five course meal which was delicious and well presented. The extensive homemade dessert selection was exceptional.
Breakfast was continental and was only average. Lots of breakfast pastries and cold cereals. There was a facility for guests to make their own soft-boiled eggs, which was the only hot food on offer.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
There is also an indoor garage, which at EUR5 per day is a real deal. The hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from the ESF, Chavannes chairlift adn village centre. We skiied with Ecole 360 and had the best teacher yet (Jerome). Private lessons were reasonably priced.
The hotel was also happy to accept our short stay
despite coming in the high season.
We will certainly return and would happily recommend the hotel .
