“Everything we needed!”
Reviewed 18 February 2014

We booked this fairly last minute as there was a great deal on the Skiworld website. The great points are location, chalet staff and the food!! The rooms are small and clean but have everything you need and its a 'chalet style' lodge so you arent supposed to spend that much time in the rooms. We were a party of 3 so its a shame we had a single supplement to pay. The chalet staff were so helpful and friendly. Nothing was ever too much and they were always chatty and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious! The cakes were outstanding!! and they accomodated any little requests..
The ski out was fine... ski in was a little more difficult.
The sauna was a warm welcome at the end of the day - but wish they had a hottub!
The only change i would make is Wifi in the rooms.. but it worked perfectly in the public areas. The TV didnt work - but it was a one off due to weather breaking the dish! and we are there to board/ski and socialise - not watch TV! although would have been good to see some of the winter olympics! would definately recommend this property if its the same chalet staff.. but look for deals!

Room Tip: we had rooms 24 and 25 - both were nice with balconies. Room 18/19 i think are quite small but you c...

Stayed at the Aigle, Tignes with my wife, two children aged 8 and 10, in August and a friend with her two sons. The holiday was faultless. It was our second time with Alpine Elements and previously we visited Morzine. The kids' club was superb and our children were delighted to have the same kids' club rep as they had the year before. They loved the activities, from archery to going on a pedallo, painting, trampolining etc. The food in the Aigle was also superb and the chef was happy to make delicious alternatives if the children did not a particular dish. The unlimited wine was a real money saver too and they were generous with it. The chalet was large, clean and comfortable. The free bikes perhaps could have been better made and were not really suitable for the red runs as they lacked suspension - minor criticism. Staff were friendly and helpful and the resort and stunning lake was idyllic. Loved the wine festival in Tignes, the free sports activity card such as the pool and tennis and pingpong. Will definitely go again no question. I even caught a trout or two in the lake.

Room Tip: Try and obtain rooms with a view of the stunning glacier. It is worth waking up to.

My husband and I had a brill time in Tignes. We were lucky with the weather and the Hotel was great. The rep in the Hotel was excellent and very helpful. The quiz night he organised was very good. The walks around the local area were beautiful. The room we had was very clean and comfortable and everyone of the staff were friendly and helpful.

We were very pleasantly surprised by Alpine Elements and Chalet Aigle. Had no idea what to expect. From the meeting at the airport to checking in to the hotel went very smoothly, and that is a testiment to the staff who were very helpful, friendly and professional.
The hotel was clean and well cared for. The rooms were basically kitted out with bed, wardrobe etc. which is fine as we didn't spend much time in there. The communal areas are also clean and the staff very friendly and always on hand, a well stocked bar, comfy chairs and tables to socialise or play cards. There was uk televison and wifi, and a swimming pool and sauna which are quite small but a fun thing to do at end of day.
The food was fantastic and Tom the chef produced some brilliant meals, Dan the rep was brilliant and his knowledge of the area and best places for us novice mountain bikers to try was invaluable.
The children's club run by Niaomi was brilliant so the younger members of the party could do age appropriate activities while the more adventurous went off for a while.
The complimentary Tignes Activity Pass allows you to do so many free activities that there was never a dull moment.
Fantastic holiday. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: All rooms are good if what you want is to sleep, all rooms have ensuite and most rooms had balcony w...

This was the perfect introduction to an adventure holiday for us and the boys (12 and 14). The scenery is outstanding, the activities are great fun and the staff at alpine elements made the whole experience very straightforward and thoroughly enjoyable. A long coach trip to get there but well worth it. The chalet was really welcoming and the food was top notch. We will definitely recommend a holiday with alpine elements.

Last minute booking with in laws including 3 teenage boys
Summer holiday with a difference in French Alps
Aigle Hotel met all criteria except no choice menu and limited outside space -just 3 loungers and the hotel ran out of ice and chips !
However the plusses were many -staff friendly ,very helpful and knowlegable
100 euro bar credit was a big bonus
Mountain bikes free with package together with many free passes to the many summer activities that tignes has to offer- a great boon to any one with active teenage boys
Magnificent setting . free local bus service ,activities for all ages
Tignes a great summer holiday resort and Hotel Aigle a value for money base

Room Tip: all rooms have balconies with great views

The staff at Aigle were excellent. Just the right amount of attention to ensure everything was being done for us without being too 'in your face'. Both our children enjoyed the kids club..but then there were only three children altogether and they all got on very well. Still, the kids club leader was excellent, letting them take the lead chosing which activities they wanted to do.

We were there for the biking. If you like your hills steep and rocky this is the place but it's not for the faint hearted! The hard tails provided by the hotel are OK but you get a longer and more comfortable day if you can afford to upgrade to full suspension.

There is plenty of other stuff for non bikers too and all within walking distance.
