It is a big chalet and if you are a light sleeper avoid rooms 1-4. The rooms are basic but when skiing don't need to be more. Hot tub is great however is policed to be used between 4 & 7! Chalet staff were very formal but following company guidelines. food improved during the week as first breakfast had to be sent back. Once the staff knew the level expected it was fine. The sauna did not work all week and have a feeling probably all season. The chalet is a 3 minute walk uphill and although you can ski out it is not convenient and doesn't take you to the ski school area. There is a boot room in the main square info centre which at 2 euro per night was the best money we spent all week.
Rep was useless with info and staff didn't know about the boot room.
Fantastic ski area and we went with a group that booked the entire chalet. So company and snow where amazing but lots of little details let this place down.

Room Tip: avoid 1-4 if you are a light sleeper

Dear Patuche
We are sorry that the sauna was not working during your stay; a new part has been ordered and this will be installed as soon as possible. All of our hot tubs are available for use whilst our hosts are present in the chalet and available to provide assistance if required; it simply would not be safe or practical for us to allow free access at any time of the day or night. We are glad that you enjoyed Tignes overall and would be delighted if you felt able to give us another opportunity to change your view of Ski Total so please get in touch if you would like advice on selecting a chalet.

Having read the few reviews on TA we were nervous about what we would find - but it was all pretty good. It's not the most luxurious chalet but it's clean, very warm, lots of hot water and the food was pretty good. Add in a central location in Le Lac and hot tub/sauna and it was great! We got a really good price and have been more than pleased with what we got - we're even thinking about going back (although the 3 hour transfer puts us off..)

We stayed here for a one-week ski holiday booked with Ski Total via Igluski.

Staff were good, but overall we were disappointed.

The holiday was pitched as a mid-range chalet, but it comes across much more at the basic end. Ski Total is a company that doesn't do more than the minimum to meet their holiday description.

The chalet was OK but definitely at the budget end of the scale. The fittings were flimsy and often broken, and it has been furnished too cheaply, from the flimsy plastic cups in the room which break as soon as picked up, tiny bath towels, no shampoo, and even miniscule water glasses at dinner. For the sake of spending just a few extra pounds it could have been so much better. On the plus side it is well located and was kept clean.

Food was average. We were told about it having a qualified chef, so had expected more. Dinner portions were small and unlike most chalets there was no bowl on the table so people could help themselves. Veg was almost non-existent. Afternoon cake was a near-identical simple iced sponge cake every day, with none provided on the chalet day off. A little variety, like other places provide, would have been nice.

One of the most disappointing things was not to have a cheeseboard. We expressly looked for a chalet that had 4 course rather than 3 course meals. But it turns out the canapés count as a course! This is misleading and wrong. At every other chalet we have ever stayed in 4 courses means starter, main, dessert and cheese. Next will Ski Total say coffee counts as a course and they will drop the starters...

Overall, the chalet staff were great. Emily particularly was always cheery and friendly. The problems were not their fault, but rather the result of poor management and the acceptance of mediocrity.

If you're after a basic holiday and have low expectations then you'll be happy. If you're used to chalet holidays then avoid Ski Total and go with another operator.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper ask for a high floor, away from the communal area

The rooms were shabby, poorly furnished and only very basic amenities supplied. En suite was tired and scruffy and smelt of mould.
Two couples put in a chalet with a large group of uni students who proceeded to trash the chalet, being woken up at 4 and 5am by them every night.
Ski Total and Igluski Customer Service was sub standard, disinterested and uncaring.
Would strongly discourage anyone from booking with either of these companies - we will avoid them in future!

We regret that these guests feel that their enjoyment of their holiday was affected by the behavior of other guests sharing the chalet. This matter is the subject of a formal complaint being handled by our Guest Relations Department and the leader of the reviewer’s party.

We stayed in Alaska in early March 2012 as part of a group of 6 booked through Ski-Total. Transfers were fine - 3 hours from Geneva and well looked after by resort reps. Ski passes all sorted on bus and were with us by dinner time - a nice little touch meaning you can hit the slopes first thing in the morning rather than queue for a pass.

The chalet is sited on a hill about 3 mins walk up from the main road where the bus leaves you. Chalet staff were great with helping carry heavy gear up on arrival. I'll try and break this down a bit or it'll just be a ramble about our holiday -

Staff - Excellent - can't remember their names and they probably won't be there next year but for the record there were terrific - from the chalet staff to the transfers/resort reps they were all very friendly and efficient.

Food - The main plus point on food was that it was served bang on time every night which is what you want on a ski holiday. Food was of a good standard but and did the job - nothing to write home about but given it's a three star chalet no complaints here.

Location - To get to a piste is a simple 2 min walk further up the hill and this gets you onto a nice little red (not too steep though) which takes you to an option of two high speed chair lifts taking you up either side of the valley. In terms of starting the day this was really good as you can get up to Val Claret and from there all over the Espace Killy pretty quickly. Alternatively you could wander down into Le Lac (about 10 mins max) and jump on the aeroski bubble if you'd like to head straight over to the Val d'Isere side.

So the start of the day was fine but the only problem for anyone less than an intermediate is the runs back down into Le Lac at the end of the day - on the Val side is a steep black which we often avoided. Most days we ended up in Val Claret and got the bus back along but this is totally avoidable, just how it seemed to happen when skiing the Grande Motte a fair bit of the time.

Ski Area - This is amazing - probably one of the best in the world. It helped that there was a ton of snow when we were there and some nice fresh powder.

Cleanliness - The chalet was kept clean and rooms were tidied and cleaned every day.

Nightlife - Le Lac is OK for Apres but not fantastic - Val Claret is a bit better but if you really want some crazy fun head over to La Folie Douce (google it) aboce La Daille - absolutely crazy.

Room Tip: Higher up rooms i.e. 11, 12 are in the eves so have (very) limited head room. Not all rooms have baths, some are just showers.
