“Recommendation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 March 2013

We were on a ski vacation during March, and almost every night we came to eat chez Arno, the owner of Bouchon. The atmosphere was very friendly. Arno, the owner is a nice person, who is always at your service.

Very recommended to those who prefer a simple, friendly and authentic restaurant.

“That's not a single steak, it's half a cow!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2013

As with other reviewers, we elected to go here on our chalet staff's night off (they had recommended this restaurant to us). This turned out to be a fantastic decision.... both of us decided to order the Entrecote at 25 Euros each, and the steaks which turned up were absolutely huge, perfectly cooked and utterly delicious... A lovely bottle of red as well and we were very happy customers! Looking around the restaurant, all the meals looked of equal quality. The happy buzz of the restaurant would suggest that everyone else was enjoying their meal as much as we did! It's quite a small place so well worth booking if you need to go on a specific night.

“Magnifique”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2013

As is the norm with catered chalets, the staff have a day off. We decided to book Le Bouchon Montagnard based on some of the reviews we had seen on Trip Advisor. I am glad to report that was a sound decision.

When you arrive up the stairs, do not follow the balcony around, that just leads to a closed door, the entrance is on your right hand side before you pass the restaurant windows. We were promptly ushered to our table, the restaurant is nice and bright, with a certain warmth coming through.

After looking at the menu, we chose the Raclette and a bottle of white wine that was recommended from the Savoyard region (local wine). The food arrived and we are used to having just one heating element for the cheese, this device had two! See the photos. That helped with getting through the huge block of cheese that they put on there. The wine was delicious and I highly recommend it (see photos).

After dinner, we chose a dessert, simply amazing. Before leaving, we were offered us a Génépi for the road. Although this is not one for the faint hearted, it certainly warmed me up enough to make the nice walk home. Highly recommended restaurant at a reasonable price.
