We had a great stay at the Lavachey. We were a mixed group of three families of four with children ranging from 18-9. It was the first time we had stayed at a chalet we hadn't rented as part of a bespoke holiday and were wary of what it might be like but the rooms were great, the food was good and plentiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's not luxury but we didn't pay for luxury and the proximity to all the other attractions in the village centre proved a great bonus apres ski for all ages. The coffee/tea area could have been cleaner and better managed andthe worst thing was the icy steps down from the front door - lethal in skiboots - but the chalet was great for our purpose, which was having a good holiday, and we would definately all go back again.

We went with a group of 12, Had a great time. Cooking and cakes were superb, fab location, clean, very comfortable ,friendly staff, great location for the teens, with bar crawls and clubs, la folie douche was their favourite! and their there was free swimming and scating with the lift passes so it was suitable for all ages. Skiing great 2 mins walk from the bubble and not far from the train to take you to the top of the glacier.
Would recommend this to everyone, cant wait until next year!

I had read some reviews before going to the Lavachey, and I must admit I was a little concerned.
After just one night my concerns disappeared.

The staff were the most helpful we have ever had, nothing was too much trouble.
The chef Adam was excellent in all that he prepared during our stay, even catering for some of our odd dietery requirements.
The room we had was well laid out, had excellent views and plenty of storage.
I would certainly go back, if possible this season.

Alphine Elements appeared somewhat disorganised in their london office, so it was with some trepidation that we arrived in Tignes. However, it was with relief that we met our happy, smiling chalet staff. The rooms were very basic, but it was a cheap holiday....the food was good, with a very willing, nice young chef. Tea and coffee was always available, and he was especially good with his teatime cakes. The walls were paper thin, but fortunately the week we were there, there were no hooligans, and everyone was careful to be quiet. My main criticism would be the use of one enormous coach to get everyone back to Geneva. This meant the people on flights four hours later than others were forced out at 6am even when their flights did not leave until 2pm! They also did a maddening change around in Bourg St Maurice with guests staying in other resorts, again to save coaches. It would have been so much nicer to have smaller coaches and more specifically timed ones.
Tignes is a great place to stay, and I would thoroughly recommend it as a ski resort.

Stayed from April 4th 2010 for weeks ski ing with 19 in our party. Ages ranged from 13yrs to 54 yrs. Position of chalet excellent. Cleanliness ok, no clean towels or linen change. Food not very good at all, due to ages of staff I think!! It doesn't bode well when guests are up before staff have breakfast out, and only 1 kettle- which took 15mins to boil - for 32 guests. The staff were very nice but cooking needs to be sorted out, whoever sorted the menus out need to be addressed, why try to be so adventurous with the cooking and not do it well, just stick to simple food cooked well, it's not so difficult. Went with Alpine Elements and wouldn't recommend to anyone else.

My family, including my 18yr old son and two friends stayed at the Lavachey for a week from 17th Jan. I must admit I did not read any reviews on the location as Alphine Elements in their description of the Chalet stated that this was their first season there after taking it on from another holiday company. The fact they were steering away from young children staying there was pleasant to read as I'd been there and got the t'shirt so I booked a bit blind as to what to expect.
The holiday did not start off good having to endure a two hour wait on the coach at Geneva Airport for another flight to arrive before a three hour coach transfer to the Chalet. All this after being up all night.
On arrival at the Chalet we were shown to our rooms and after settling in went and collected our hire equipment, as promised by pre-ordering we were handed our lift passes well before the slopes opened the next morning.
From our first full day the only fault was that the previous tennant in our room had lost the key and we did not get the replacement until the next evening at dinner. This was a minor matter. From then on what a fantastic holiday, we were right on the slopes, a short distance from four main lifts so the Chalet was an ideal base to operate from. The food was varied and very tasty and a credit to the cook (Jen), all the staff were helpful and accomadating to our requests. The wine containers if ever emptied were soon full again.
The accomadation itself was clean and tidy but basic but then it was somewhere to keep our belongings and to sleep, it was warm and if timed correctly plenty of hot water. The dinners was always on time and Jen even made cakes for afternoon tea which was from 3pm, we were able to pop back for tea & cake and return to the slopes if we wished to.
I would certainly return to Chalet Lavachey and would recommend it.
